Destined To Love Her (Astrid and Blaze)

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

“What's the matter?"

"Don't you know?"

Astrid was dressed gracefully today. Although she didn't wear any makeup, her delicate facial features still looked very charming.

All the men passing by were attracted by her appearance.

Blaze's face suddenly turned cold. He approached Astrid as if he was telling them she was his woman.

Milo rolled his eyes secretly. Blaze behaved like a child who was trying to protect his favorite snack.

"I'm tired. Just cut to the chase." This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Astrid thought Blaze must have found out something about her through Mark just now, so she wanted to take the chance to make things clear. She didn't want to become Blaze's enemy.

After all, the Cohen family was very powerful. It would do her no good if she provoked Blaze.

Astrid went to the table on the side and sat down. She opened the lunch box on it and began to gobble the food. It was just ordinary fast food, but she ate it with relish.

Blaze's face softened when he noticed that Astrid was very tired.

He walked into the lounge, pulled up a chair, and sat down.

Blaze felt he was impressed every time he saw Astrid after the divorce. He really didn't expect her to be so talented.

"Don't look at me like that. I've always been like this."

While eating, Astrid didn't ignore Blaze's gaze.

Blaze found her a little adorable when she was bumbling with food stuffed in her mouth.

“Why did you marry me?"

"For the secret medicine your family has. You know my legs are injured. It can help me recover."

Blaze really had a keen mind. Even if Baxter tried to hide it, he still sensed something wrong.

"That's all?"

"Baxter and my grandfather are from the same town. He agreed to give me the medicine, but he said | had to marry you."

“What about the divorce certificate?"

"Baxter's condition was getting worse three years ago. | helped to treat him in the past three years, so he paid me back by agreeing to our divorce."

Astrid never expected Baxter to be so keen. He had already noticed the matter between her and Blaze, but she didn't refuse when he showed her the divorce certificate to thank her for taking care of him for three years.

After all, she had helped the Cohen family a lot in the past three years.

Blaze looked at Astrid. He only knew she had rarely gone out, but he had no idea that she had treated Baxter.

When Blaze married Astrid three years ago, Baxter was dying, but his condition had improved since their marriage.

The Cohen family thought it might be because his good mood helped to improve his condition, but they never knew it was Astrid who treated him.

"How did you study medicine?"

"Before | answer that question, it's my turn to ask."

Astrid put down the box after eating the oatmeal. The satisfaction from her appetite restored her spirits.

“You want to know about the patient you operated on?"

Astrid was very smart and bold, like the first time Blaze saw her. He rarely met a girl like her.

"Yes."

Astrid knew Gideon was not an ordinary man as Blaze came to visit the patient in person.

"He used to be my comrade, who was injured recently during a mission."

“Really? Don't you think you should thank me?"

She heard from Baxter that Blaze used to be a soldier. Blaze took over the Cohen family's business after he was discharged from the army five years ago. As for his other past, she was not interested.

In short, Blaze was a very powerful man, and Astrid couldn't afford to offend him.

"I'll treat you and Mark to dinner when you've got time.”

"Forget about the dinner. Can | ask for something else?"

It was rare that Blaze owed her a favor. Astrid tried hard to think about what she wanted as she didn't want to miss this chance.

"What do you want?"
