Chapter 844
Chapter 844
Olivia paused and looked at the man at the dining table. He was glowing and did not look like he had just suffered a fever.
‘No thanks.”
‘I’m on my way to the hospital anyway. It’s not out of my way, so why refuse me? Hmm?’
Olivia did not want to argue with him, but John had already got up and walked over to her, handing her a sandwich.
’Mrs. Simmons makes delicious sandwiches. Take it with you. You can eat it when you’re hungry later.”
’Have you recovered so soon?’
John smiled. “Maybe it’s because you were with me, so I recovered quickly. My fever is gone in the morning, and I have a good appetite. It doesn’t affect me at all.*
Olivia only found the man weird. Who could have a fever of 39 degrees Celsius in the middle of the night and be so energetic the next day?
However, she did not bother to argue with him, so she followed him into his car.
’John, I don’t want to forgive you, nor do I intend to believe you. I hope you understand.”
John changed his attitude and said with a nod, “Yeah, I know. I won’t force it. You’ll see who’s telling the truth in the future.’
Olivia turned to look out of the window. She grabbed her phone and called Ken.
’Where are you? Kate’s illness is getting worse. She needs someone to sign the papers, so do that if you’re at the
hospital and don’t miss the emergency deadline. I’m on my way.’
’I’m at home.”
Ken’s voice was a little indifferent. “Your presence is all they need.”
‘Ken, how long are you going to be at odds with her? She’s your sister. Are you sure you don’t care if she dies?”
Olivia’s tone was harsh with a hint of a reprimand. “That’s enough. You’ll regret it if you keep this up.”
‘Why are you suddenly defending her?’
‘Because I saw the change in her and what she is. You know very well that she’s not bad. Stop being stubborn, will you? She needs your support.”
Ken did not buy it. ‘Why are you suddenly okay with her scolding Zyla? Have you forgotten Zyla?”
Sometimes Olivia thought Ken had a one-track mind.
However, unable to tell Kate’s secret, she could only bite her lip. “Ken, you’re a grown man. Even if you dislike her, don’t forget you’re the only family she has in Ocean City. She needs you. Aren’t you afraid you’ll regret it if she doesn’t make it today?”
Then she hung up without waiting for Ken to speak.
She had no idea why Ken was so stubborn and unkind to Kate.
After all, they were brother and sister. Even if they were not biological siblings, they grew up together. No matter how wrong she was, what could be more important than human life?
“If you treat me like that, won’t you be sorry when I d ie one day?”
The man beside her suddenly looked at her and said out of the blue.
Olivia frowned. “I don’t think what I said applies to you.”
“Olivia, you’re so cruel.”
Olivia sneered. “It’s not that I’m cruel, John. You always survive. If you’d die easily, you’d die six years ago. but you didn’t. You were fine six years ago, and you were fine four years ago. You’re still fine now. Will you die?”
Her remark made John feel a tightness in his chest.
Everything she said was familiar. It was similar to what he had said four years earlier.
She was mad at him. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
’Did you sign the divorce papers?”
Olivia’s expression immediately changed. “How do you know about that? Didn’t you pass out yesterday?”
John turned to look at her. “Olivia, I’m not a robot. How can I be eavesdropping when I have a 39 degrees Celsius fever? You carelessly left the divorce papers on the bed. I found them when I woke up this morning.”
With that said, he looked blankly at her and asked, “So when are you going to sign them? Hmm?’
