Getting Him Hooked: Mr. Freeman's Indifferent Sinner Wife

Chapter 846

Chapter 846

Olivia waited by the emergency room door for almost an hour. Before the operation was over, she became more flustered as time went by.

‘Nothing can happen to Kate!’

Suddenly, her phone rang. She thought it was Ken and picked it up without looking.

“Why aren’t you here yet?”

However, she heard a familiar yet strange voice as soon as she asked.

“Ms. James, I should be asking you this. The auction is about to start. Why aren’t you here yet?”

Olivia paused and looked down at the caller ID before pressing her lips together in embarrassment. “Sir, I’m sorry. Something happened to my friend, and she’s still in the emergency room, so I forgot. I think I cant make it today. I’m really sorry…”

She expected Milo to be angry, but Milo unexpectedly chuckled.

“Ms. James, I noticed you have been strangely afraid of me since we met. It’s as if I will eat you. It’s a big deal if a friend is in trouble, and it’s normal that you can’t come. You don’t have to apologize to me.”

“After all, I promised you I’d attend. I feel bad that I can’t go.”

“What happened to your friend? Do you need my help? Which hospital are you in? Shall I come over?”

“No thanks. Don’t bother, Sir.”

Milo was silent for a while. “Then let’s meet again when you’re free.”

Olivia nodded. “Yeah, okay. Goodbye, Sir.”

However, she could not help frowning after hanging up.

‘Why do I find Milo speaking and acting differently from Mr. M?

‘But how could he be an impostor when he could bring up so much that only Mr. M and I knew?

‘Am I being paranoid?’

Olivia patted her face and shook her head. John’s meddling must have made her so paranoid.

“She’s not out yet?”

Suddenly, a dark shadow cast over her head and enveloped her.

She knew who it was without looking up, so she spoke bluntly.

“So you came? I thought you were going to watch her die.”

“Why are you mad at me? It’s not like there aren’t doctors to help her. I’m not going to be of any use even if I came. I’m not the one operating on her.”

Olivia jumped up and punched Ken in the chest when she heard this. “Ken, since when did you become so heartless? She’s your sister. Shouldn’t you be here? Do you know how much she needs your support and companionship?”

Ken sneered. “If she hadn’t been stupid and became Dorothy’s lackey, this wouldn’t have happened to her.”

“Ken, do you know what you’re talking about?”

“Of course I do.” Ken’s face was cold. “We warned her. Who’s to blame when she went her way?”

“Ken, Dorothy thought she was a traitor and beat her up because she helped me!”

Olivia lost her temper and slapped Ken. “Even if you don’t feel sorry for her, you didn’t have to say such nonsense here! I’m so disappointed in you!”

She had hit him so many times, and Ken never fought back. He just looked at her indifferently until the emergency room door opened, and he turned to leave.

“Ken, aren’t you going to see her? Do you have to do this?”

Ken paused and left without a word.

Olivia looked at his back in disbelief, wondering why the men around her had changed.

They became so unfamiliar that it scared her.
