Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master

Chapter 1961 The Beginning Of An Alliance

Chapter 1961 The Beginning Of An Alliance

"Well, do you believe me now? I really want to join forces with you," Rocky reiterated sincerely.

"That's a good plan, but how can you be sure Zain will fall for your tricks? If he sees through us, my

Red River Valley will be burnt for naught!" The misgivings Enoch had for Rocky helped him stay his

hand for now.

"It is up to you and your acting skill whether our plot can go past Prince Zain. I believe in you. I'm sure

you'll find it easy to set up a trap for him," Rocky persuaded him.

"Of course! Tricking Zain will be like a walk in the park. Don't worry, I'm sure he won't notice anything,"

Enoch answered, putting on airs as he bristled at the thought of the plan failing because of him.

Unknowingly, he played right into Rocky's hands, all because he didn't want the other man to look

down on him.

"You must remember that you can't tell anyone else about this plan, because Prince Zain might have

imbedded a spy in your camp. Only the two of us can know," Rocky warned Enoch seriously. After all,

all this sneaking around would be useless if somebody else caught wind of their plan. Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

"I already know that. Don't worry, I will arrange everything in secret," Enoch replied. Even without

Rocky's reminder, he was well aware of the importance of confidentiality in moments like these.

"All right. Since we have reached an agreement, I'm leaving! You can continue to enjoy these girls'

exceedingly graceful dancing in bed." Rocky finally ended their conversation, cupped his hands, and

left Enoch's tent.

"The Godly Genius of the Ghost Fief is really something! Luckily, Zain's narrow-minded ways pushed

him away. If Zain had tolerated him even a little bit, Odin might have decided to help him, and I would

have been doomed! Zain doesn't even know how much his short-sightedness have cost him. Ha-ha!"

Enoch murmured to himself in relief after Rocky had left his tent.

After leaving Enoch's stronghold, Rocky went back to the camp of the Ghost Fief's army in the Wind

Plain. Since Zain had forbidden them from participating in the war, the Ghost Fief's army was now on

standby and recuperating from their previous encounters.

He headed straight for Gilbert's tent and briefed the other man on what went on with his meeting with

Enoch.

"Odin, are you sure Enoch won't betray you?" Gilbert asked. He still had some doubts about their plan,

for he thought Enoch would take advantage of this opportunity to get rid of Rocky. Enoch was

despicable, after all.

"Don't worry. Enoch wanted to kill me in the past because I had the Purgatorial Tripod. Now that the

Purgatorial Tripod has been returned to the royal family, I am no longer a thorn in his side. His priority

has changed its focus to the current war, as he must defeat the royal army no matter what," Rocky

reassured him with certainty.

"That's good. As long as this plan goes smoothly, Prince Zain's defeat is almost a foregone conclusion.

When that happens, Princess Layla might have a chance to make a comeback," Gilbert said with a

nod. For him, all the effort and sacrifices he made would be worth it, as long as Layla could make a

comeback.

"We should let the Ghost Fief's army rest for now because they will soon have another role to play. We

will need to save our prince," Rocky cryptically declared.

Just as Rocky and Gilbert finished talking, Vivian entered the tent.

"I will take my leave now, Leader Gilbert." Rocky bade goodbye as he cast a glance in Vivian's way.

"Wait! I need to talk to you two about something," Gilbert said out of the blue.

His words burdened Rocky and Vivian with a foreboding feeling, and the pair couldn't help but

exchange nervous looks.

Once the two had settled down in the seats in front of him, Gilbert leveled them with an appraising look.

After a moment of tense silence, he finally addressed Rocky. "There are some things I don't want to

ask outright. However, we need to talk about it; because if I don't ask, my silly sister will continue to

avoid this much-needed conversation."

"Leader Gilbert, what do you mean?" Although Rocky tried to act clueless, he had actually figured out

what Gilbert was talking about.

"Okay, I won't beat around the bush. How do you feel about my sister, Odin?" Gilbert asked bluntly.

"What are you talking about, Leader Gilbert?" Rocky asked back, continuing to feign ignorance.

"Do you want me to make it more clear? Fine! I can see that my sister has fallen for you. I know her

well because I've been taking care of her since she was a child. She has never been so close to any

man. In the past, she didn't seem to care for any man except me, as they are all losers in her eyes.

However, her feelings for you are obviously different, so, as her brother, I don't want her to miss out on

what could make her happy," Gilbert straightforwardly relayed.

"Leader, what nonsense are you talking about? I don't have feelings for this guy!" Vivian spat and

glared at Rocky viciously. She didn't expect that her brother, who had always been indifferent to her

own affairs, would be so enthusiastic this time.

"You don't have to be so shy in front of me. I'm your brother. Don't you think I'd notice if my sister has

feelings for a guy?" Gilbert readily answered Vivian, as if he had already seen through her.

Hearing his words, Vivian couldn't even meet Gilbert's eyes. She felt guilty and shy. Her brother had

indeed seen through her.

Of course, Rocky realized that as well. He had always appreciated Vivian's personality. She had always

reminded him a lot of Lena. After all, Lena was the woman he appreciated the most. As a saying went,

"Love me, love my dog." Therefore, when he first saw Vivian, he began to like her.

However, he had long been indifferent to love, so he had never guessed nor did he actually care what

was on Vivian's mind. At most, he would occasionally tease her. But now, it seemed that her feelings

for him were beyond his imagination.

"Odin, don't be shy. Just tell me what you feel about my sister. If you like my sister, I will arrange a

match between you two," Gilbert reminded Rocky. Obviously, he wouldn't stop until he got what he

wanted.

"Leader Gilbert, your offer astounds me!" Rocky replied with a bitter smile.

"It's not surprising at all. If you like her, then just admit it. If you don't like her, you can also tell the truth.

You know I'm not one to beat around the bush," Gilbert advised with a snort.

Rocky glanced at Vivian stealthily, not knowing what to do. If he refused her outright, it might hurt her

feelings. But if he let her be, she would definitely misread the gesture and it would cause more trouble

in the future. He was in such a complicated predicament.

"It's none of your business!" Vivian retorted with a pout. She was a little upset. She also noticed that

Rocky was in a dilemma.

"Of course it is my business. You are my only sister. Besides, I know your personality best. Even if you

like Odin, you won't say anything. Moreover, he has already married Valeria. You certainly don't want to

destroy the relationship between our Ghost Fief and the Flower Fief," Gilbert lengthily intoned, as he

tried to read what was on Vivian's mind.

Vivian bit her pink lips and felt a headache coming on. She knew her brother very well, and if Rocky

didn't give him an answer today, he would certainly not let it go.

So she had to look at Rocky because only he could persuade her brother.

"Leader Gilbert, are you saying that if I like Vivian, you will marry her to me?" Rocky asked after

thinking for a while.

"Right." Gilbert nodded.

"But if that's the case, I might offend Valeria and the Flower Fief," Rocky murmured, using Valeria and

the Flower Fief as an excuse.

"Isn't it normal for a man to have several wives? I'm sure Valeria will understand, and my sister won't

mind such details, either. As long as you treat her well, I won't hesitate to marry her off to you." After

saying that, Gilbert turned his attention to Vivian again.
