Accidentally Married

Branch Thirty Five

“I must say you are a beauty to behold,” Leslie says sitting g and pulling the chair closer to the bed. She puts her elbow on the bed and plops her head on her palm.

If not that Leslie’s eyes were twinkling and her sincerity was flowing through Jessica would just pass it off as flattery between the upper-class ladies.

“Let’s be best of friends,” Leslie says again taking her hand.

“Okay,” Jessica responds.

Leslie sounds too kind for her to turn down and she had no friends so finding one in the upper-class cycle would even be the best solution for her.

Since Leslie was willingly sincere and honest, she could take advantage of the opportunity in case she needed anything. She did not know what situation may arise that would make her need her but it’s better to have a weapon and not use it than to need a weapon and not have it.

“As soon as you leave here we are going on some bonding exercises to ensure we stick together as glue,” Leslie said a squeal finishing her sentence.

Since Leslie went after two men consecutively most ladies in the upper class of Chiachester City began to avoid her which later left her with no friends. Although Leslie always knew that those women were not her friends but at least in social events she never felt bored and fed on their gossip but ever since she tied the knot to Brian they all avoided her.

Somehow Leslie was being selfish. She honestly likes Jessica but she knew that every lady would want to befriend the lady of the Delgado family. They may need some help in the future and every family thought that the easier way to make a deal was through the lady of the house.

Leslie would somehow be able to ease back into society if she was on Jessica’s side. She was not looking for friendships from them but she wanted to be comfortable at social events without having to be the topic of discussion.

“You would do that when she is out of the hospital” Xavier responded his facial muscles tensing up.

“That’s what I said” Leslie replied with her guard high up.

“Thank you for stopping by you see Jessica. I think it is time for you to leave” Xavier said bluntly.

Jessica felt quite embarrassed at the way he said it. He sure sounded rude.

“Brian you told me he had changed?” Leslie asked facing her husband.

“I thought he did, he became less rude, or I just got used to his rudeness,” Brian said signing and going to sit on the couch.

“I said you should leave but you are sitting on the couch?” Xavier asked.

He was worried that they were disturbing Jessica from having rest. Jessica on the other hand was grateful for some conversation after a long day of peace and quiet. She was not comfortable with it but it was better than the cricket she experienced since morning.

“Take your husband’s credit card and we would go shopping, have our nails and hair done, go for spa treatments, and even take a short trip around the city,” Leslie said in excitement.

“I would love to” Jessica responded.

If she was offering friendship she would take it.

“I would also teach you the ropes of how to handle the upper-class ladies. I was born as one so I know how it all works” Leslie added.

For one thing, Jessica was grateful. She knew she might have to start attending events but she was clueless about what to do.

“I would much love that, thank you”

“I would go get coffee, Does anyone want a cup?” Brian asked standing up.

“Oat milk for me” Leslie responded.

“I am good, no coffee for me” Jessica responded.

“Strong black for me,” Xavier said.

“You’re coming with me” Brian responded pulling him to his feet.

“Must I go?” Xavier asked with a big frown drawing up on his face.

He did not know the reason why Brian was forcing him to go get coffee at the end of the day but he did not want to go. Brian acted as if the cries and pleas made by his boss fell on deaf ears and pulled him out of the room and out the hallway.

“Why?” Xavier murmured.

Brian was uninterested in placating his friend and stroking his ego. He continued to walk towards the elevator. Xavier got on with him.

“Why were you hiding your wife?” Brian asked closing the door.

The reason for the escape was so he could ask his questions.

“Hiding her?” Xavier asked as if Brian was asking something stupid.

“Yes, like I’m your best friend why do I have to meet her for the first time while she is hospitalized?” Brian asked again.

He feels like there must be a reason why Xavier would not brag about his beautiful wife. It could do the business well. Most people tend to companies that have owners with happy and stable families.

“There was no occasion that would put you two together” Xavier answered shrugging.

He did not think that he was hiding his wife. Jessica hated the public light on her. She felt uncomfortable during the scandal and Xavier hardly attended social events so it was a win-win for both of them.

“Bring her out more often, you might shoot up the stock prices” Brian advised.

He also wished that Jessica would be of great help to him and help him break off from the shell he had hidden in all his life.

“Let her out more,” Brian said finishing.

He had done the best he could for his friend.

After getting the coffee they both go back to the room where both ladies are having a small discussion. After a few minutes, Brian stands up and dusts off the imaginary dust off his trousers.

“I guess we better get going so you can have a nice rest,” Brian says.

“Can I ask a favor?” Jessica asked holding Leslie’s hand. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Leslie had not stopped touching her hand ever since they came in.

“Yes, you can” Leslie responds clutching to her hand and squeaking like a child that just received what he wanted so desperately under the Christmas tree.

“Take Xavier with you, he hasn’t had anything to eat since morning,” Jessica said.

“Awwn so cute of you” Leslie reacted to the thought fullness of Jessica.

“And you had strong black coffee?” Brian asked shaking his head at him.

“I am okay,” Xavier said.

“Please take him so he can have dinner,” Jessica said.

“I won’t go” Xavier responded like a stubborn young child.

“You have to do it,” Jessica said her words like a command.

“I’ll be back after the meal,” Xavier said standing up knowing he can not possibly win this battle at all.

He would nibble on something quickly and return to keep an eye on her for the test of the night.

“The two of you are so cute. The Dream” Leslie murmured dreamily.

“Don’t come back tonight. Go rest at home” Jessica said in a more commanding tone.

Xavier looked at her with a glare and walked out. He planned to be back and there was no way she was telling him what to do.
