EPISODE 56 He missed her
MOON STONE PACK
FOUR WEEKS LATER
Alpha Carl Damien sat on the swivel chair behind a big mahogany desk with a blue file in his hands. It was close to evening time, a good hour to take a break to have dinner but he was too busy handling and reading different files. The workload has doubled since his beta wasn’t back from the honeymoon yet but the couples would be back in few days time.
Despite being buried in pack affairs, a perfect way to keep his mind closed up but Alpha Carl Damien always find his mind drifting back to the passionate moments spent with the witch of Maridom.
Seven weeks has passed since his best friend got married, the same day Meagan had slipped out of the wedding hall without a final word to him after she received an emergency call from her sister that her father had collapsed.
Alpha Carl Damien heaved a sigh as he leaned back in the chair, his gaze fixated on his cellphone. His only regret was not collecting Meagan’s number even though they had agreed to keep the affair a secret. She had left without a word which had hurt him than he never expected.
The first three days after all the celebrations ended and Meagan’s departure, alpha Carl Damien had shrugged off the memory of spending a good time with a strange woman but it was followed by a feeling of yearning to be with her again. His wolf was disappointed that he may never have a chance to see her again. His wolf blamed him for spending too much time in the infirmary that night instead of being in the hall with his eyes on Meagan. But because he wasn’t present when she was about leaving, he had lost the chance of saying a final goodbye. As days passed into weeks, Alpha Carl Damien has come to realize that there was more to his wolf wanting Meagan in their life.
To be honest, Alpha Carl Damien missed Allison the witch of Maridom. He missed her beautiful face. He missed hearing her voice. He missed having a chat with her. He missed her angelic smile. He wanted to experience the passion and spark and vibration that had flared between them whenever they were alone and very close to each other.
Several times, alpha Carl Damien tried to remind himself that what they had was just a fling and meant to remain that way. He tried to explain to his wolf that they shouldn’t expect more. But his wolf was refusing his words and the alpha has also come to admit that he wanted more with her.
He picked up his cellphone to call his best friend with a plan of asking for Meagan’s number buy a question crossed his mind.
“Do you want to meet Allison or Meagan Swift?”
Alpha Carl Damien furrowed his eyebrows at the sudden question. He pondered on it as the cellphone slipped from his hand to the table.
Allison the witch of Maridom and Meagan Swift are both trapped in the same body but they have different personalities.
The alpha got lost in thought trying to find the right answer as he bantered internally with his wolf until they both reached a conclusion. And they both hope for good results to come from the bold and courageous step that they are about to take this time.
NEW YORK
CLEVELAND HOSPITAL
Meagan grabbed her lunch at the food desk and then made her way to join the table where three of her colleagues sat discussing about random things.
“Please join us.” Doctor Jenna said before Meagan could even make the request.
“Thank you, Jenna.” Meagan smiled as she settled on the only chair left. “How is your shift in the emergency ward?” She directed the question at Nurse Mira.
“Stressful.” Nurse Mira let out a sigh with a tired look on her face.
“I think you should consider taking a maternity leave now.” Nurse Carissa, a wolf suggested.
Meagan’s head snapped up to look at nurse Carissa. “Maternity leave?” Her gaze drifted towards nurse Mira.
“Yes she is in her first trimester.” Doctor Jenna said with excitement in her tone.
Meagan was surprised. “Yes, I am pregnant. I am sorry for not telling you about it.” Nurse Mira apologized.
Lunch hours is the only time they all have to be together. But in the last two months there haven’t been an opportunity for them to have a proper conversation. Nurse Mira got married to a werewolf about four months ago. She was off work for just two weeks for her honeymoon but they had kept in touch via text messages. Meagan was surprised by the revelation because she didn’t notice Mira had a bump. She has been too busy to even take the slight note that her friend could be pregnant.
“I didn’t know.. seriously it’s not so obvious.” Meagan mumbled with a dazed look on her face.
“Why do you think she has been so silent around her?” Nurse Carissa asked.
“Oh…” Meagan mouthed as she nodded her head slowly in understanding.
Nurse Mira was like the vibe machine in the hospital. She had a very good relationship with the children. But she has been too quiet lately.
“I didn’t know I was pregnant until two weeks ago. The recent early morning sickness and tiredness made me settle to do a test.” Nurse Mira had a bright smile on her face as she discussed with her colleagues.
They were so happy for her. “So I am going to have a baby!” Nurse Mira said excitedly.
“I am so happy for you, Mira.” Meagan said although a little dazed as they diverted the topic to human women marrying a werewolf and don’t experience early morning sickness in their first trimester.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I have come to realize that the growth of a werewolf fetus is quite different from the human.” Doctor Jenna said.
“Yes, you are right. My husband said that the fetus of a werewolf in first three months is quite slow making it hard for the woman to know she is pregnant.” Nurse Mira added.
“My goodness, some women don’t even know they are weeks gone! And it sometimes happens with humans too.” Doctor Jenna sipped from her iced tea.
Nurse Carissa and Mira nodded in agreement. “Do you remember the case of Mrs Britney?” Nurse Carissa asked.
“Yes! The mistress to an alpha! I can’t believe she was about ten weeks gone and she didn’t know she was pregnant until the test results confirmed it.” Doctor Jenna explained the case.
“I think I just experienced the same issue. I mean.. if I had some morning sickness early I would have realized that I was pregnant.” Nurse Mira giggled.
“That means a medical practitioner can’t escape it too.” Doctor Jenna laughed and Mira and Carissa joined in except Meagan.
She was lost in thought at the moment.
