Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 34

Chapter 34

It was an internship offer letter from Miller Group.

“In recognition of your efforts, I can give you an internship opportunity at Bernhal Enterprise.”

Jerome cleared his throat and said, “But you cannot act recklessly with your identity. Everything must be done according to company regulations.”

Mikayla found it amusing.

“When did I say I want to become an intern in Bernhal Enterprise?”

Jerome thought that Mikayla wasn’t pleased with the internship position. He tried to maintain his patience.

“Miller Group has strict requirements for hiring. This proposal is not enough to meet the standards to become a regular employee. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

“As long as you keep working hard and learn to do more proposals, we will turn you into a fixed term employee in one month. The company will arrange a suitable position for you.”

Mikayla was speechless at Jerome’s words.

“What position will you give me?”

Although Mikayla’s smile was mocking, Jerome still answered her, “Usually, you will become an investment analyst assistant. But if you are outstanding enough, you can apply for the position you want.”

“Can I apply to become the Investment Director then?”

“Mikayla!” Jerome warned her.

“Why are you shouting at me?”

Mikayla’s face fell.

“I might even reject your offer.

“You read my proposal without my permission and condescendingly say you’ll give me an internship opportunity. Who do you think you are?”

“You!” Jerome choked back with anger.

With Jerome and Mikayla in a tense standoff, Mike quickly Interjected.

“Mr. Miller, Mrs. Miller, I have something to attend to. I’ll leave first.”

With that, he swiftly escaped the office.

The other two remained silent.

“Mikayla, stop being sarcastic!”

Jerome was furious.

“Do you think you deserve better than becoming an intern? Do you know how many people would do anything to get such an opportunity?”

“Jerome, stop acting self–righteous!” Mikayla retorted without hesitation.

“I never had the intention to join Bernhal. You’re the one who secretly took my USB drive!”

Jerome had literally stolen her USB.

Besides, he even read the contents in it.

The proposal she intended to use against Bernhal was fully exposed. All her efforts were now in vain.

Facing Mikayla’s criticism and anger, Jerome knew that arguing further was pointless. He tried to suppress the rising anger within him.

“You knew Bernhal was planning to invest in Ansoft and worked so hard in creating this proposal. Why would you do that if it wasn’t to join the company?”

“Is there any rule that says I can’t create a proposal for Ansoft unless I join Bernthal?”

Jerome was left speechless again.

“Mikayla, can’t you stop being so childish?”

Jerome coldly said, “Kylie majored in finance at a prestigious foreign university. She has an outstanding track record in the financial field. Do you think a mere proposal can prove that you are better than her?”

Jerome finally expressed what was on his mind.

He believed that Mikayla had created the proposal just to compete with Kylie.

Although Mikayla wanted to surpass Kylie, it wasn’t for the reasons he thought.

“Jerome, I don’t need to prove my excellence to anyone, especially not to you!” Mikayla lashed out at him and turned to leave.

Jerome watched her disappearing figure at the door. His face grew darker. Then, he called for Mike.
