Blind Date Turned Proposal

Chapter 1374 Visiting Abraham

Dexter hummed in acknowledgement. "I'm on the way."

As he hung up the phone, Josie anxiously asked, "How's it going?"

"I need to return to Wavery, and you should too. I'll arrange for someone to sort out our flights."This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

"Can't I go back with you?"

"It's best not to," Dexter said, flashing a rare wry smile as he tousled with her hair. "We can't both get in trouble if something goes wrong."

Josie was frightened by that statement. She grasped his sleeve and spoke in a rush. "It's Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I heard Morgan say that planning to start investigating you from there. You need to instruct them to handle it thoroughly."

Dexter held her hand. "Don't worry. It's going to be okay. Trust me."

His words soothed all her anxiety. He's Dexter, after all. If he says it's going to be okay, then there's probably nothing to worry about.

When he left, Josie stood at the crossroads, watching the car drive away.

The inspection at the mansion slowly came to an end as well. Jasper darted out, asking, "Everything all right?"

Josie shook her head. "They just wanted to take my statement. Where's Morgan?”

"He said he won't be able to wrap things up anytime soon and asked me to escort you."

"Is everything okay now?"

"Okay" was a strong word, and Jasper merely nodded. "Where would you like to go?"

"Could you possibly help me get in touch with Mr. Witherspoon?" asked Josie.

Upon hearing Abraham's name, Jasper was startled. "How would I know how to do that?"

"You just need to tell me where he is now."

Observing his hesitation, Josie reassured him, "We're all in this together. I won't betray Morgan, so you can relax."

Two hours later, Josie visited a tranquil mansion within the bustling city of Newcove with some gifts.

The servant asked through the doorbell camera, "Who are you looking for?"

"I want to see Mr. Witherspoon."

The servant was vigilant. "Mr. Witherspoon is not receiving visitors today."

"Tell him that I'm the daughter of the Olsen family from Wavery," Josie said before the call was ended.

Five minutes later, the servant emerged to open the door. "Please, come in."

As Josie made her way into the mansion and passed by the living room, she noticed a photo of Juliette prominently displayed. Her smile was radiant in the picture, showing no signs of aging.

Abraham sat on the balcony, with his back facing the sun, clearly still shaken.

"Mr. Witherspoon," greeted Josie.

The old man slowly turned around, narrowing his eyes as he scrutinized Josie. He was surprised upon recognizing her. "Are you the woman who was with Morgan?"

"You must've been traumatized. Here, I've brought some sea cucumber. It'll help replenish your strength," Josie said as she put the gift down.

"Take it back. I don't need these," Abraham said, still angry and reluctant to interact with her.

"Whether you accept it or not is up

to you, and whether I deliver it or not is my responsibility. If Morgan found out I didn't handle it properly, he would surely blame me,” Josie said with a faint smile. “Moreover, Juliette will be back soon. If she

sees you this anxious, she'd be worried."

When Juliette was mentioned, Abraham immediately rose from his seat and approached Josie with his hands behind his back.

"You know my daughter?"

"Juliette's project in Wavery is a collaboration with the Olsen family."

Abraham frowned. "You're the long-lost daughter of Mark. What's your full name?"

"Josie Warren, also known as Josie Olsen. You might have even held me before when I was a baby," said Josie.

Abraham began sizing her up and let out a cold huff upon recognizing her. "You've changed quite a lot."

"You, however, haven't changed one

bit. My father often spoke of you recounting tales of how the two of you started from scratch and fought side by side. He always became emotional whenever he brought it up." sŵnovel.net
