Chapter 17 The Abnegation
Chapter 17 The Abnegation
Gavin's tone was very determined. It seemed that he was determined to break off relations with the
family. But it was true that Salome came from a wealthy family. And her fiancé must be someone of
high social status. If he really did something, it would not be easy to end.
Salome still refused to give up. "Gavin, I know you can't let go of me, and that you gave the necklace to
someone insignificant because I got married. But since you have me in your heart, why don't you just
admit it?"
Salome really didn't take me seriously. For me, as an insignificant person, this was really embarrassing
to hear. God knew how much I wanted to leave, but I did not dare make trouble when sitting next to
Gavin.
Gavin said impatiently, "Miss. Roberts, let bygones be bygones. Why are you so depressed? You have
a good husband already, and I have a true lover. We shoud be content and live our own lives." As he
said this, he even took my hand and raised it in front of Salome.
As expected, the proud and elegant Salomon got out of the car with an angry face when she saw Gavin
holding the hand of me, a yokel in her eyes.
Gavin still felt it was not enough. He wanted to pour more oil on the flames. He said, "Since Miss.
Roberts likes the necklace so much, then you can keep it. Do not send it back to me in the future so it
will not get lost again." He then slammed the door and left.
I didn't have to look at Salome and can already figure out what would happen to her pretty face.
Sitting in Gavin's car, I sniggered in my heart. Gavin discovered and asked me with a smile, "What are
you laughing at?"
I quickly shook my head and said, "No, it's nothing, sorry." After thinking about it, he added. "By the
way, thanks to Mr. Stone for saving my life."
Gavin said indifferently, "It doesn't matter. You are innocent. As the initiator, I should stand up for it."
Suddenly, we heard a call from my mother, I picked it up, "What's wrong, mom?" I asked. "Did they go
home again?"
"Darcey, I want to ask if you have transferred money to our family. There's suddenly a lot more money
on the card!"
Gavin sat upright next to me and drove with a serious face. I looked at him and said, confused, "No,
how much you get?"
"That's too scary. Our bank card suddenly has three more million dollars!"
I hung up the phone and looked straight at Gavin and said, "That was your money?"
Gavin shrugged and said, "Yeah, you lost a necklace that is so expensive. I have to compensate you."
"That necklace was yours. I can't take your money!" I was so speechless and said.
"Why? I, Gavin, have always been a man of my word! I will never take back what I have promised you.
That's my principle!"
"Then I have my principles. I just can't ask for money from others for no reason!"
"Do you have money now?" This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
Gavin's short sentence made me lose my temper. That's right. I have no money at the moment. With
my many debts, I should be poor. I am a single, divorced woman with no money. How much is self-
respect worth? Can it be used as food?
After a moment of silence, I had to say, "I will take the money first and thank you for your kindness, but
I will pay you back."
"What do you want to pay me back?? What do you have? Yourself?"
