Roman’s Banquet III
Zinnia
Am I dead?
I stood frozen in the room, my eyes wide with disbelief. The room seemed to blur as my mind struggled to process the reality of things unfolding before me. Time slowed. A heavy silence settled in, only broken by the sound of a melodious laughter filling my ears.
My whole body trembled, leaving me in a state of shock. A disconnection from the world around me. Maybe I have died and I was in heaven. That would explain the angelic sound resonating in my ears, forcing me to feel the weight of the ground beneath me.
At a slow pace, my surroundings settled in. My eyes landed on Reed, whose head was thrown backwards as he laughed out. The realisation of what he had done and the shock I felt earlier was quickly replaced with anger.
It brimmed, smoke coming out of my ears. The urge to seize the gun from his hand and shove it up his ass sounded so tempting.
“You fucking asshole,” I grumbled. Somehow, my anger only seemed to entertain him, and the knowledge that he was birthing in my terror vexed me. With a scowl on my face, my eyes zeroed on in him, shooting daggers in his direction.
Digesting from his laughter, he approached me. “Damn, seeing you so scared makes me so fucking hard. I want nothing more than to bend you and fuck you in the ass,” he whispered cockily, the sound of his words sending tingles throughout my body, making me forget I was fucking pissed at him.
He brought the gun to my lips. I shuddered.
“Shhhh,” Reed traced the gun on the outline of my lips and I knew he could sense my uneasiness. I hear the sound of the gun loading
“Open up for me, little flower,” Reed ordered. On cue, my lips spread apart and he ducked the gun inside my mouth, my mind immediately forgetting what happened a few seconds ago. Staring into his mismatched orbs, I licked the tip of the gun, tasting myself on it.
Reed’s eyes darkened. My ego skyrocketed. His reaction made me aroused, knowing that he wanted nothing more than to replace the gun in my mouth with his thick veiny cock.
“Fuck!” Reed’s voice came out raspy. He pulled the gun away from my mouth and I sighed.
As if nothing had happened, Reed fixed up his suit and tucked the gun in the back of his trousers. He fixed his tie, his gaze never leaving mine.
“Get dressed!” he ordered.
For the next few minutes, neither one of us uttered a word to each other. However, with every movement I made, I could feel Reed’s gaze on me. It was intense and although I was dressing up, he was undressing me with his gaze and fucking me senseless in his mind.
“Are you going to leave that there?” I asked, ruffling my hands through my hair to give it a little bit of volume.
“Yes! I am sending a message to someone. I hope they find it,” he replied. Reed walked over to the body and searched his pocket. He removed a small pocket knife and then stooped beside the body.
He unbuttoned the shirt from the body and began to carve something on it. Once done, he rose to his feet and the initials RD could be seen, crimson spilling out from it.
The next thing I know, Reed is grabbing my arm and leading me out of the room. We walked down the stairs in silence and in no time, we were back in the banquet.
Snarling his hand around my waist, he pulled me into him and then leaned in for my ear. “I better not catch you smiling at any man here,” Reed warned and the next thing I know, I was all to myself, searching the crowd for Alex.
I spotted Alex on the dance floor. For a split second, I thought of joining her but decided against it. Instead, I headed for the bar, making a mental note not to smile at anyone. The last thing I wanted was Reed killing someone else.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
But, why did he bring me here if he was just going to leave me on my own? He didn’t want me interacting with anyone else, yet, he wouldn’t stay with me. So what? Did he expect me to stare at faces all night long and not interact with anyone?
His words from earlier stirred in my brain. What did he mean when he said he was sending a message to someone? Was it possible that he was here on a mission? Did that man he killed his mission?
But, why would he risk doing it here? Parties of this sort have never been my business, but one thing I know is, security is always top-notch. And in most movies I’ve watched, there were always cameras installed.
Perhaps, the room we were in earlier had cameras. Maybe it didn’t and there were cameras in the hallway instead. Regardless, if anyone found that body in there, it would immediately be linked to us.
I should be scared at the thought. But for some reason, I wasn’t. I knew Reed had everything under control. He would never let anything bad happen to me. I trusted him to know that, just as he had made that guy he killed in the alley disappear, he was going to do the same with this one.
Wrapped up in my thoughts, I hadn’t realised I had emptied the glass and someone had approached me.
“Why is a beautiful girl like you all by herself?”
The voice came from my left, so I directed my attention in that direction. For a man in his mid-forties, he was handsome, with dark brown curly hair and a beard to match. He flashed me a pearl white smile, one which I didn’t reciprocate.
I knew Reed was in the crowd, and although for most of the time I couldn’t see him, I knew he was watching. Now, more than ever someone has approached me.
“I don’t mean to be rude, but I am not in a mood to talk,” I said. This man doesn’t know it, but I am protecting his life by having him stay away from me.
“Oh, and she’s feisty at that. Tell me sweet angel, what is your name and who are you here with? I am the reason behind this banquet and I know every one of my invitees,” he added, this time, resting his right hand on the counter.
I pursed my lips. “I came as a plus one. Now, if you don’t mind, I should find my date,” I spoke, then grabbed my purse and was about to leave when he grabbed my arm.
“Come on, stay with me for-”
“Roman! For everything you hold dear to life, get your hands off my girl before I cut it off and shove it down your ass,” Reed’s cold and angry voice came from behind, sending shivers down my spine.
