Chapter thirty seven
Pain shot through my veins. It felt like a blizzard flowing through my veins. The venom shot through me like a bullet being shot.
I wanted to scream but I couldn't. My mouth stayed shut. My body felt limp like thousands of weights piling down on me.
In my head, I screamed in pain. I wanted help. At this, I wanted to die. Not caring to keep on living as a vampire. I want to get out of my misery.
I've should have listened to Blade. All three of us would still be human if we just came out. He warned us and we didn't listen.
As soon as he stepped into the forest a couple feet, they snuck up to us and grasped us from our hiding spot to feast on our blood. Blade turned around and watched us die.

When my eyes pries open to have the light glaring in my eyes. My body felt ponderous and glacial.
Tossing my head side to side to take in the new scenery. The bedroom has white walls and a bed with beige sheets. Chocolate brown dresser sits on the right of me against the wall, the drawers facing me.
On the left of me is an open door wide leading to a bathroom. I'm vampire, why do I need a bathroom?
Finally taking the courage to get up, I slowly raise myself on my elbows, but failed immediately when I sit up too fast. My head begins to spin, but finally got it straight. What I noticed at first is my sight is getting sharper, which means I can see the knitted detail in the rug, and the slivers of wood in the dresser.
The next thing I noticed is my scent of smell has gotten stronger. I can smell fish in the river a few miles away.
Hearing car honks in the distance makes my mind so crazy.
Walking around the room, I finally stepped to the door ready to emerge into a new scenery. I walked into the long hallway that filled with paintings of sunsets and landscapes. The walls are brown cream walls with oak planks for the floor. Venturing to the stairs, they spiral down to the main floor, where the whole living room is white with white leather couches.
I wanted to go down slow but not used to being in vampire form, I speed down the stairs feeling the aftermath of dizziness.
Holding onto the banister, I crush it from my strong touch.
"Shit," I mumble.
I hear footsteps coming from the right of me. Swirling around, this guy, looking no older than forty, came into the living room. His auburn hair shined in the light.
Dress shirt and dress pants almost stood out with his white skin.
"Thought I heard something. The names Charles. Charles Minken. I'm part of the Tandler group here."
"Tandler?"
"That's what we call our group of vamps. See, there's the Tandlers, Bein, Minn, Jones, Len, and last the Vanetts. Now the ones that bit you were the Vanetts. They live on the other side of the forest. That's who we're having war with. I was summoned to come fetch you and your two friends."
"What group will we go in?"
"I don't know. I think you'll be with the Tandlers but not sure."
"Oh."
"Charles!"
"Yes?"
"I'm bored."
A little girl with blonde hair with a dark purple streak came into the room. She wore black pants and a black shirt. She takes a glance at me before her eyes grew wide.
"Hey! You're Sarah's friend."
"Yeah I am."
She seems familiar but can't remember where I've seen her.
"You were at the forest when I first saw you and Sarah."
That's where I've seen her.
"Yeah, what's your name?"
I crouch down to her level. "Sapphire."
"I'm Sabor, but Sarah calls me Sabe."
"Hello Sabe."
"Hi Sapphire."
"Since you got bitten, are you going to be staying with us?"
"I don't know yet. Hope so."
I want to keep living near or in town since this is where I grew up. Now I just need to somehow tell my parents that I'm a vampire. I spot her holding a bottle of blood. I just realize then that my throat is so dry.
"I can see your craving blood. I'll get you a bottle, just don't attack Sapphire. I'm responsible for her and I don't want to die." He whispers the last part.
I nod and he leaves us alone.
"So, have the others woken up yet?" I ask the little girl even though she probably doesn't know. As if reading my mind, she shakes her and continues to drink the blood.
When will he get back? I'm dying of thirst right now.
"Here's your drink."
He came back handing it to me. I take a drink gulping it down only to have most of it gone. Once I'm satisfied with my hunger I finally ask him, "are the others up yet?"
"Not that I know of. So far, you are the first on up from your transformation."
"So tell me more about what's going on?"
"Well, it's very hard to explain but here's what you need to know. The Vanetts are getting their revenge on the Tandlers, and Sarah for what her ancestors have done."
"What'd they do?"
"Her great, great grandfather was a mass serial killer to them. They'd came onto the Vanetts land and kill them. Finally they had enough and killed every one of them. I don't know the whole story about what happened, but that's all I know why they're after Sarah. Now they're after us is because Raul and Victoria came onto their land after getting chased out of other places. They wanted to build a home in the forest by they disagree. A war started up and a lot of vamps died that night. Of course both teams called truce and each took a side. The Vannets stayed hidden from the people until then, and now."
"Woah."
"Yeah."
"Do you live here?"
"No actually. I came down to fight, but it's not my thing so instead I'm watching Sapphire since she's too young and it's dangerous for her to go out."
"Oh."
He nodded. "Well, since it's just us three, wanna do something?"
"Sure, but what?"
He grinned. "Follow me."
We headed down to the basement with Sapphire trailing behind me.
The basement sure is massive. I can't even see the other side.
Waking down into a corridor of doors, he opens one revealing a room with a dart board. A counter from a bar, just without the alcohol. Seats boarders the room walls with a coffee table in the centre with a basket of darts.
"Can you play?" Charles asks lifting a dart.
"Hell yeah."
In the corner of my eye, Sapphire sits down on the couch and watches. "I'm going to observe you guys."
How does a little girl like her know "observe"?© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
I picked a dart and throw it gently from my strength. I got ten points.
