Chapter 69
Unice’s PoV
After eating and standing up from my seat, I decided to wash the plates and utensils we used. As I was washing the plate, I noticed Ace holding his phone. I believe he is texting his men and friends, Max, Charlie, Tom, and Justin, as we prepare for his plan.
“Max will be here if you dial his number, do an act if the police are here. Tell them that Max is your cousin and is here because he discovered I kidnapped you. I already informed Max about it,” Ace informed as I nodded, and while I washed the plate and glass, I wiped both hands with a clean, dry cloth and wondered for a moment if this was the last time I would see Ace.
“I’ll do the acting,” I assured him as I approached and sat beside him.
“Are we going to start waiting? It’s already 6 p. m., and I suspect he’ll arrive early.” I pointed to him, and he looked out the window.
“We’re ready, and it’ll get dark sooner, so no one notices what’s happening inside my house,” Ace explained. Still, no one is here near his house, surrounded by trees and forest, and he has no neighbors in such a vast area that he feels isolated.
“I’m going to cook something else because I need to act like I prepared something for Christian, right?” Ace looks at me when I ask him a question.
“Yes, you must act, and then after I murder Christian, I must injure you so that you do not become a suspect as well,” Ace explained. I nodded as I opened the fridge once more and prepared the ingredients.
I can’t believe I’m going to cook Chrisitan’s last meal.
I took the whole chicken and began to wash it before slicing it with a knife and dividing it into pieces. I prepared the ingredients before continuing to cook and marinating the chicken. After I finished cooking and cleaning both hands, I felt Ace hug me and hand me a gun, which he gave me.
“You’ll need this for your safety,” Ace whispered to my left, and I nodded and accepted the gun. I checked to see if it was a loaded 9mm pistol.
“Thank you. Let me put this out there first,” I thanked him, placed the food on the table, and then covered it because it wasn’t yet 8 p. m.
We waited for two hours, and when the time came, I stood up from my seat to prepare a champagne toast for them. Ace was the one to greet Christian, and I heard them enter the dining room.
“I had no idea you prepared food for me. First, where is my father?” Christian exclaimed Ace as he sat down first, and I placed the champagne on the desk and un-covered the food I prepared.
“First, we need to talk, and then you can eat the food that my girlfriend prepares,” Ace offered, and Christian looked at me as if he was perplexed because I was dressed as a maid.
“Why are you dressed as a maid? Are you planning to seduce me and have group sex with me?” Christian teased me as he laughed, picked up the wine glass I was holding, and drank it immediately.
“Ace, let me wear it, and I’m just following him,” I respond, and Christian returns his gaze to Ace.
“Give me back my father, I came here because you said he was here, and I want him back, and let’s settle this with money so you won’t retaliate,” Christian pleaded, and I just listened.
“Do you believe that money can solve everything?” Ace remarked as he played with the wine glass.
“Isn’t money something that everyone desires? You love your girlfriend, so that’s an exception.” Christian added that I didn’t put anything there as he laughed and ate the chicken I cooked with steamed vegetables.
“I’m not one of them; all I want to do is avenge my family. I want your father to feel the same way my parents do, “Ace clarified as he stood up from his seat, wearing black gloves, and Christian was perplexed.
“What happened to him?! We still have time to resolve this!” Ace smirked as Christian yelled.
“He’s already dead. You can see where I put him,” Ace said, but Christian stood up and picked up the bottle of wine, breaking it.
“I’m going to murder you right now!” Christian yelled as he attacked Ace, but Ace deflected his attack and grabbed Christian’s arm, snatching the broken bottle.
“If you can kill me, I will congratulate you,” Ace mocked as the two fought, and I noticed the mess on the table and picked up the gun from the top fridge.
Ace punched Christian, but he was strong, and Christian punched him. I was surprised when he kicked Ace down and kicked Ace’s head, and Ace was unconscious.
Christian looked at me and the gun I was holding, so I decided to flee. I was in Ace’s room and didn’t know what to do. Christian was here now, so I pointed the gun at him. I saw Ace kick Christian back.
“Throw the gun at me!” Ace yelled, and I nodded. I handed him the gun, but when he pointed it at Christian, I heard a siren outside, and Ace looked at me.
Ace let go of the gun and began strangling Christian to death as he strangled him. Christian was struggling, but after a while, he stopped struggling, confirming that he was already dead, and blood was coming out of his eyes, indicating that he was no longer breathing.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Ace stood up quickly, took the knife he had, and touched my right palm, slicing a little of it, and I held my scream because it hurt. Ace looked at me and smiled before kissing my forehead.
“I’m going to slap you as hard as possible, so bear it, and I apologize if I have to do this.” Ace apologized, and I nodded before closing my eyes. He slapped me, and it hurt. I opened my eyes, and he picked up the gun, and I began to cry to perform an act.
We’re about to go outside, and I heard the cops say, ‘Come out now!’ Ace came to a halt and said something.
“I promise we will be together again. I love you, Unice,” Ace promised, and I kept crying when we got outside, and I saw the gun pointed at us.
“Allow her to go! Drop your weapons and place your hand behind your head.” One of the cops yelled, and I saw my right palm bleeding from the wound.
Ace drops the gun, and a cop picks me up; when I look at Ace, I see him knelt down, and the cops put handcuffs on him; as I saw Ace get handcuffed, I decided to keep crying, but it’s no longer an act; it’s a pain to see him walking away from him.
“Please allow us to treat your wound. What is your name, miss?” While cleaning my wound, the medical personnel offered.
“My name is Unice Venixe,” I said, still sobbing.
“We will speak with you, and you must accompany us to the police station after we have treated your wounds, or we can take you to the hospital.” After treating my wound, the medical personnel added.
“Is it okay if I call my cousin?” I interrogate her.
“Is he or she your legal guardian? Do you not have a family?” The medical personnel inquires about my condition.
“My family is gone, and I only know my cousin,” I told her as the police approached us and placed two phones in front of me.
“Which one is yours?” When the cops question me, I point to the black one because Ace’s phone is silver.
“Call your cousin, and we’ll meet him here,” I nodded as the medical personnel stated.
I dialed Max’s number, and he answered immediately, as if he was expecting my call, and quickly picked up.
“Hello, Max? I need you here, and I’ll explain what happened later.” I took action, and he responded to my call.
[I’m already here; I’ll approach you in a few minutes,] Max clarified before hanging up the phone.
“He’ll be here in a few minutes,” I said as I noticed Ace in the police car; I could tell he was sad but calm now that he had his revenge; I knew there would be challenges along the way without him, and I need to be strong.
Max arrived a few minutes later on his motorcycle and quickly approached me while removing his helmet.
“Unice!” Max yelled, acted, and hugged me, and I hugged him back.
“Are you all right? What happened to the person who did this to you?!” Max inquired. To be honest, his acting is good.
“Sir, I need you to accompany us because the victim will be a witness to what happens inside this house,” When the cops interrupted our conversation, Max nodded and assisted me in walking.
“We’ll return here after the police questioning, but for now, you need to be treated and checked to see if there’s anything wrong with you,” Max murmured, and I nodded slightly.
