Chapter 37
37 Caught in cross fire
Glynn’s sudden scream startled both Noah and Mrs. Nelson. The two of them didn’t expect that Glynn would suddenly start screaming. Annoyed at the actions of her daughter, Mrs Nelson snapped, “What is the meaning of this? Why are you screaming like a mad woman? Is this what I taught you?”
“What am I supposed to do when you are driving me crazy?” Glynn questioned back angrily. “Don’t leave the hospital because what will people say? Don’t go outside to meet your friends because your
sister-in-law is missing. Why should I stay cooped up in my home just because that foolish woman chose t

concerned? If she ran away, then she ran away. I say good riddance! We all hated her, remember?” Glynn’s words caused Noah and Mrs Nelson to frown, as they couldn’t understand who taught Glynn to act like this.
Even if she was short-tempered and impulsive, she shouldn’t be acting this way.

“Glynn, stop being foolish,” Mrs Nelson tried to teach her naive and foul-tempered daughter. “This is not a matter that you can make light of. You are the daughter of the Nelson family and every action of yours is under scrutiny, if someone finds out that you went partying on the night when Ari was missing it will cause quite an explosion.”
“I am just meeting my friends, Mom, not committing arson,” Glynn rolled her eyes at Mrs. Nelson. She thought that her mother was exaggerating and acting paranoid, so what if she was the little princess of the Nelson family? In the end, she was just a young girl and there was no way the media personnel were watching every move of hers.
“Glynn—”
“I will hear what you have to say after I come back, Mom,” Glynn replied as she made her way towards the doors of her house. She was not going to stay inside her house tonight, more like she couldn’t stay inside. Erica was coming with her ex-boyfriend and if she were to miss this night out then that woman would spread the rumours that Glynn was too heartbroken to
show her face.

She wasn’t. She would never let a man who chose
money and fame over her love break her heart.
This was a matter of pride, and she had much more pride than that foolish woman.
“That girl!” Mrs Nelson stomped her feet. She could not understand why her daughter was acting this
rebellious, she was already bad enough when she was a teenager, but now she was simply choosing the worst possible decisions.
If this goes on, then eventually she would self-destruct
herself.
“Let her be mom,” Noah rubbed his forehead as his right eye twitched. “Let her do whatever she wants, once she learns her lesson that those friends of hers are simply using her for their amusement, she will sto giving us a hard time.”
“Well I do expect her to become sensible, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon,” Mrs Nelson huffed while worry lines coated her face.
She hoped that her daughter wouldn’t do anything that would bring trouble to her family.

daughter was going to do tonight. She would have locked her up.
Glynn arrived at the Shadow Knight Bar in her flashy car. She threw the keys to the worker who was responsible for parking the car and then strode inside the bar with her nose tipped high in the air.
Her black killer heels made a clicking sound against the marble floor as she crossed the corridor and then entered the elevator. Once the doors of the elevator closed, a man stepped out from behind the counter as
he sent a message–

The elevator’s doors slid open with a chime and Glynn stepped out. She took out her touch-up kit and then checked up her make-up, when she saw that her
lipstick was a bit faded than it was at home, she

blood, did she open the door of the private room that was booked by Carl.
As soon as Glynn pushed open the door and entered, the chatter inside the room suddenly came to a halt and a surge of anger flashed in Glynn’s heart.
‘Sure enough, they all were making a joke out of me,’ Glynn thought angrily. The fact that Erica, who was neither as beautiful nor as rich as her, snatched her boyfriend was a grand humiliation for Glynn who was the young princess of the Nelson family.
And the sudden silence only angered Glynn, as she believed that the people inside were mocking her for not being able to keep her man. Not that she wanted
to keep a poor pauper.
Her heart ached at the thought, but she hitched her lips in an arrogant smile as she looked at the crowd inside the private room. She said, “What’s wrong? Did I interrupt something?”
As Glynn spoke, she walked over to Carl and hugged him. She did the same with everyone but skipped Erica and the handsome young man next to her.
“It’s nothing like that,” Carl waved his hand as if trying

to dissuade the awkwardness that filled up the room after Glynn entered. He glanced at Erica, whose expression was stiff and cold as she didn’t like the fact that Glynn ignored her as if she weren’t even present in the room and hurriedly said, “We were just talking about the latest car model that was launched a few weeks ago.”
However, he said the wrong thing because of Erica’s lackey, who did not like the fact that Glynn ignored Erica and wanted to humiliate her. He chimed up and said, “Erica said that her father was going to buy her the latest model, and she agreed to let us drive it
around.”
When Glynn heard his words, she curled her lips a laughed disdainfully.
