Chapter 25 Bidding For The Dress
When Sierra saw Claire, she walked toward her and flashed a fake smile.
"Are you also here to buy clothes?"
Claire shot a disgusted look at Sierra and turned away. She didn't want to talk to her.
The smile on Sierra's face froze.
Claire's arrogance surprised her.She hadn't dared to show her attitude before.
However, Sierra soon remembered Darren announcing to the reporters that she was his girlfriend and became complacent.
"Darren has been busy of late.I was with him all the time and never got the chance to go shopping.Oh, by the way, I haven't congratulated you yet."
Claire didn't respond, but Sierra continued to smile at her.
"I'm happy that you also found your Mr.Right."
Claire looked at her and sneered.
Sierra only wanted to show off.
After all, she had somehow made Darren admit to the world that she was his girlfriend.
Although Claire didn't investigate who took the photos of her and her father, she knew either Sierra or Bonita was behind it.
Claire didn't bother probing further about it, but Sierra was seeking trouble.
Meanwhile, the saleslady returned with the dress of a smaller size.
Claire glanced at it and nodded.
"Okay.Pack it."
"I’ll buy it!"
Sierra interjected.
"I also like this dress.Do you mind giving it to me?" she asked, batting her eyelashes.
Claire looked at the saleslady, who looked flustered.
"Err...this is the last piece in this size. This lady placed the order first."
At first, Claire wanted to say she didn't want it.But on second thought, she didn't want to give it to Sierra.
"Sorry, I do mind."
Sierra looked visibly startled. She quickly rearranged her expression and forced a smile at Claire.
"Well, this dress is a haute couture, isn't it? It's expensive.Check the price first.Otherwise, you'd end up embarrassing yourself. You don't have to unnecessarily pretend to be rich."
"It's only a hundred thousand dollars. No big deal."
"Oh! I almost forgot you're dating a wealthy man." Sierra scoffed.
"Moreover, he is an old man.He must have worked hard all these years and saved a lot of money.I'm glad he is willing to spend money on you.But what do I do? I really like this dress."
Sierra bit her lip pretentiously.
"How about we bid for this dress? The higher bidder will get it.What do you say?"
She then turned to look at the saleslady and arched an eyebrow at her.
‘I believe you won't refuse this proposal."
"Well..."
"Okay!"
Claire agreed.
"I'll start with one hundred and fifty thousand."
"Two hundred thousand."
Sierra crossed her arms over her chest and smiled.
"Three hundred thousand."
"Three hundred and fifty thousand."
They continued to raise the price, which seemed to attract the attention of the other customers in the shop.
Most people recognized Sierra.
As for Claire, they felt she looked familiar, but only a few people knew her from the rumors and recognized her as Darren's ex-wife, who had hooked up with a wealthy man.
Darren's ex-wife and girlfriend were competing for the same dress.
Everyone was interested in watching the outcome.
The price had increased to eight hundred thousand.
Sierra looked calm and confident as if sure she'd get the dress.
"Nine hundred thousand,"
Claire shouted anxiously.
Seeing her anxiety, Sierra was overjoyed.
"One million!"

Claire anxiously shifted on the spot as Sierra's face broke into a triumphant smile.
However, at that moment, a slow smile emerged on Claire's face.
All traces of anxiety vanished in an instant.
"I have dozens of dresses from the same designer.I'm tired of wearing them. You can have it if you like.I don't want to compete with you anymore."
The blood on Sierra's face drained in an instant.
At that moment, she realized Claire had fooled her.She had purposefully provoked Sierra to get her into competing.
