Her Precious Baby

Chapter 270

Chapter 270

Evander stared at Hanson's hand coldly and mocked. “You’re not a three-year-old who doesn't know how to read the room. Mr. Yiurk. I'm simply here today to present a gift to Ms. Sorelle.”

There was no fault to be found in his words. While he sounded friendly to outsiders, he, Hanson, and Angeline were painfrilly aware of the contradiction present in his statement.

Hanson's appearance only made the atmosphere around them even more awkward.

Hanson's expression darkened slightly.

He was about to reply to Evander, but Angeline beat her to it.

“Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Golding. Of course, I welcome your arrival since you're already here. However, I'm curious about the gift you mentioned, Mr. Golding.”

At that, Evander shot a look at the driver.

The driver immediately understood his employer's intention and hurried downstairs.

Angeline was stunned as she gazed at Evander. I was merely joking. Also, I thought the gift was just an excuse he randomly came up with to justify his presence here. However, it seems that he actually did prepare a gift.

While she was deep in thought, she saw the driver approaching her with a giant card covered in red cloth.

Evander successfully drew the crowd's attention in an instant.

Everyone stepped closer to the object and stared at it with curiosity as they speculated on what it could be.

Angeline was also wondering what it was. However, she couldn't help but feel exhausted. Evander's appearance here is already irking me, yet he's disrupting the event further with liis gift. Is he intentionally doing this to ruin my fashion show?

Frowning, she cut straight to the chase. “What are you trying to do, Mr. Golding?”

It was supposed to be Forrester Group's fashion show that day. yet everyone's focus was now on Evander's mysterious gift. She didn't want him to keep hogging the limelight.

“Open it,” Evander ordered in a deep voice.

“Understood.” The driver nodded and removed the red cloth.

When Angeline saw the number on the card, her eyes widened, and her breath quickened.

On the card was the introductory cover of Forrester Group's fashion show, some written well-wishes, and a small piece of glass affixed in the middle with a check inside.

The number on the check was eight eights.

While that amount of money wasn't a rare sight for the guests, they were surprised Evander would present such a gift to Angeline.

Angeline, too, was stunned by the unexpected monetary gift.

With tightly knitted eyebrows, she questioned. “What's the meaning of this, Mr. Golding?”

“Don't misunderstand anything. This is just a gift,” Evander answered expressionlessly.

“Your gift is too extravagant. I cannot accept it,” she rejected as she did her best to remain collected. Even though he makes it sound like tliis almost ninety million check is unremarkable, no gifts of this nature are ever this expensive. Is he trying to paint me as an enemy?

A look of dissatisfaction swirled in Evander's eyes because of Angeline's rejection. “I never take back anything I gift to someone.”

She was aware of his temper and that he definitely wouldn't take his gift back if he said so.

“We're honored that you're willing to grace your presence here, Mr. Golding. However, if you understand Angeline, you should know that she won't accept it.” Once again. Hanson spoke up to smooth tilings over.

He even draped an aim around Angeline's shoulders.

For a few seconds, liis action made her feel uncomfortable. While she frowned, she didn't push him away. He's right. That's exactly what I was thinking.

Evander looked at Hanson's hand that was on Angeline's shoulders and flashed a smirk. “Do you think you understand Angeline?”

Hanson's face clouded over slightly. “I don't understand what you mean. Mr. Golding.”

“That's enough.” Angeline spat, her sharp look trained on Evander. That scheming smile on liis face... Clearly, he knows something that may be detrimental to my current situation.

When she thought about that, her face turned cold. I must not allow him to ruin the fashion show!

“The fashion show is about to begin, Mr. Golding. Let's not waste any more time here and head to our seats, shall we?”

In response, Evander stopped troubling her. He glanced at her before ambling toward liis seat.

The fashion show officially stalled.

The security guards allowed reporters to enter the venue to take pictures as tall, slender models showed off Forrester Group's clothes on the catwalk.

The audience had a great time watching the show. Some started taking photos of the models with their phones.

Angeline was the only one with a stunned expression. While her eyes were on the models, she was thinking about something else.

Her worries had intensified after Evander appeared. Jonathan mentioned he was going to give Hanson a surprise today, but he refused to tell me what it was about, so I have no idea what'll happen. Seeing how successful the fashion show currently is, I admit. I regretted promising Jonathan so quickly. I should've had a backup plan.

She gripped the hem of her suit as unease bubbled in her heart.

“Wow, that looks so beautiful!” It was then the crowd suddenly exclaimed in awe.

That snapped her back to reality. Reflexively, she raised her head and looked at the catwalk.

Angeline saw the models she handpicked appearing on the stage with clothes fr om the Ocean fashion line.

While each piece of clothing had a different style, they were fashionable and beautiful enough to gamer exclamations fr om the audience.

“Oh my god! It's like I see an ocean of stars! It's so beautiful!”

“I can't believe my eyes! Who's the designer? Tliis is so stylish. I love it.” Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“Incredible! Look at each of the designs! They perfectly conceal the flaws of the models' bodies! I'm thoroughly impressed by Forrester Group.”

Angeline was, naturally, comforted by the crowd's compliments and was happy for her mother. I bet Mom will be proud if she can see what's going on fr om the heavens.
