His Cure

Chapter 2 Hi, IntrovertBoy.

..

Beatrice scoops some hot noodles into her mouth and sniffs and started munching on it rapidly.

The phone on the table before her kept buzzing with unending messages.

She carried a mug of juice and decanted some in the glass up.

She grabbed the cup and gulped the juice down.

She let’s out a sigh before nabbing her phone from the table.

She was in her one room apartment.

Her abode is quite unfortunate and even more for a top author on a writing platform.

The platform she works with is just too ridiculous. But, she’s got no choice since she couldn’t find any other job and the money she gets paid is still worthwhile, bearable, at least.

But, she gotta quit now and put more effort in finding a job.

Her mother is suffering from a deadly disease and she has to stockpile as much fund as she could for her surgery.

She logged in into her author’s account and saw the incredible number of coins that her readers has used to unlock her recent chapters. By the end of it when this coins would be exchanged in money, the price is rather preposterous.

She licked down the sweet flavor in her mouth.

Her eyes shone when she saw the number of coins a fan gifted her.

Woah?

Is it the same person?

She checks the profile.

IntrovertBoy, as always.

He is the one that always gifts her coins the most.

Her phone dings and a message from Instagram appears at the top screen of her phone.

*Hey?. I’ve got an exclusive offer. Wanna be my personal writer?. I will pay you.*

Huh?

She tapped on it and it took her to the chat box with IntrovertBoy.

Her eyes bulged out.

His offer is mouthwatering.

“How much are you going to pay?”she reads out as she typed and send her reply.

“Name your price.”he sent back almost immediately.

She ate her lips anxiously.

He is quite rich, huh?

She gave a nasty smirk before typing in a huge amount that sounds almost insane.

“For a week,$2000.”

She scoffs and placed her phone down on the table.

She grabs her chopsticks and rolled some noodles on it then shove it in her mouth.

She peeks at her phone and saw that he is yet to reply.

He’s probably ran off.

She chuckled. What a joke ass.

As she made to look away, his message came in.

*$10, 000/month.*All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Her eyes widened in shock.

OMG!!!

She jumps up in shock and mistakenly slaps her plate away with her hand.

Her noddles ended up on the floor but she cared less.

*For real?. When should I start?. Right now?. I will start sending it to you tonight.*

*You have to sign a contract first. And, no, you will have to come over to my house.*

Her happiness died down.

Come over to his house?

She flicks her hair back.

*I can easily send to you from here.*she replied.

*If you’re feeling insecure, you could ask the cops to come with you.*he texted back.

She cogitated for a while before sending him an “okay.”

★★

“Okay.”the message reads. Gregory tilts his head to the side.

Just okay?. She is not going to ask about his address?

He does not know why he wants her to live with him while writing him stories though. She could easily send them over.

He decided to go all in and texted her the address and the time she should arrive the next day.

He threw his phone down on the bed and breathed out a sigh.

He glimpsed at his cup and seeing it empty, he huffs.

Yes. She has to be here. Maybe having both her and the stories so close would help him heal from his wounds faster.

The church bell was rung again and he groaned and grabs a pillow and pressed it down to his ears.

Heaven knows how he dreads that sound so much.

Only God knows where the church is. Who the hell build up a church on the island, anyway?

He tapped down on his speaker and a music boomed to life.

He removed the pillow from his ears and took his laptop, turning it on.

It’s time for work.

★★

Next Day.

~Morning.

The sound of the birds chirps woke Gregory up.

He groaned and turned to the other side of the bed while covering his face with the blanket.

A particular bird came to release a loud sound near his window and he yanked the duvet off his face and sat up.

“What the hell?! You wanna die?! I’m still sleeping, you fvcking little sh! t.”he yelled out.

He slept back on the bed and when he was close to getting a wink of sleep, a call came in on his phone.

“Fuck..”he muffled against the pillow.

He tapped the space beside him but couldn’t find the phone.

He sent his hand to the table and it lands on it.

He took it and picked the call up without looking.

“It’s so early in the morning, Harry. I wanna get some sleep. Bye.”he said sleepily into the phone.

“Oh, wait!”a female voice exclaimed.

Huh?

Gregory removed the phone from his ear to stare at the screen in discombobulation.

Sh! t it’s an unknown number.

He normally do not answer calls from an unsaved number.

“This…. is..”the person at the other end hesitated for a while.

“I suggest you go make a cup of coffee instead, since you seem to have much time to dilly – dally.”he frowned.

“Ah, oh right. I brought some fries with ketchup. Do you wanna have some?.”the person chuckles.

Gregory scoffed and slaps his forehead.

“Did Harry puts you up to this?. Whoever you are, just get the hell out of the phone with me. It’s a beautiful morning. Don’t spoil this for me with your bad charms.”

“What?. I am in front of your house, IntrovertBoy.”

Oh, Jesus!!!

“A.. author Beatrice?”he called slowly.

“Can you please come open the door, IntrovertBoy?”she snorted.

His eyes grew wide.

He tossed the blanket away and sat up.

He slips his legs into his Crocs and moved out of his room.

He rushed downstairs and went to the entrance door.

He took in a deep breath and twisted the doorknob and the door creaks opened.

“Oh, hi there. IntrovertBoy.”Beatrice scoffed while standing akimbo.
