CHAPTER SEVEN
“So is this a goodbye?”
“No, Bree, no please.”
“But you’re getting married next month? So, what I am to you? A mistress, a lover? I may be a dumbass, Jace, but I don’t want to be someone’s hoe. I preferred to be a bitch who hooks with a different man than to be a homewrecker.”
“You’re not, Bree. If there’s anything to blame here, it’s me.”
“So, we’re going to split up? Because I don’t want to be a homewrecker.”
“Bree, I don’t want to be an ass, but please, I am begging you to stay.”
“Jace, I don’t want to be your mistress. I don’t want to be the cause of the ruin of your family. I am a woman and I don’t want to happen to others the things that I don’t want to happen to me.
“But I need you too!” I touched her face. “Bree, I need you. You’re the one I want to be the mother of my children. The one I want to be with forever. Please, Bree, please stay.”
“But I don’t want to ruin your future family. I grew up without a father and I don’t want any child to experience the same. Included your child.”
“I can be a good father. But I can’t be a good husband if it wasn’t you.” I kissed her on the lips. “Bree, I want you.”
“I want you too.”
“Then, let’s leave.”
“What?”
“Let’s get out of here. America, London, anywhere. Let’s get together and build our own family.”
“And your baby with Margot?” Am I that selfish? I’m confused.
“Bree, please leave this one for me. Stay, until she gives birth. After that, I will file an annulment.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
“Jace, please don’t make it hard for me.”
“I won’t, please, please.”
“Jace, I love you so much. You know that, how many times have I been a fool to you.” She wiped away her tears so I touched her cheek. “How many times have I been hurt because of you. How many times have I gambled and looked ignorant? Because I love you. Even if it hurts, but go ahead, I’ll make a fool of myself again because you said you need me and I’ll handle it.”
“Bravo.” I quickly looked at the one who speak and let go of Brianna’s hand. It’s Maggie with Joker.
“Maggie?” Brianna and I are here in the restaurant. I never thought Maggie and I would meet here.
“If you’re going to flirt you should be in a private place, useless ones.”
“Jace?” Son of a—–
“I’m really going to kill you, Jace, I’m telling you.” Maggie whisper.
“Margot.” I adjusted myself then looked at Brianna who also adjusted and became formal.
“Jace has a meeting here, Margot, but they’re done,” Maggie said. Margot came up to me and kissed me on the lips then anchored her hand on my arm. I secretly looked at Brianna to see her calm reaction.
‘I’m sorry, Bree, I’m sorry and I hurt you like this. But fuck, I love you, I don’t want to lose you so it’s not okay for me to be selfish just to be with you the way I know.’
“Care you introduce us to your meeting, Jace?” You’re stupid, Maggie. I want to peel your skin and feed it to Blaze.
“Ah —”
“Maggie Dela Merced Gonzales, sister of Jace fiancee.” Maggie held out her hand and she introduced herself. “This is my sister Margot Dela Merced soon to be Jace’s wife. And you are?” Brianna reached out her hand.
“Bree Amarante, nice to meet you.” Brianna smiled at her.
“What are you meeting, if you don’t mind, Jace?”
“Margot, it’s confidential about business, right guys?” Maggie said.
“Yeah,” Brianna said at once.
“Anyway, nice to meet you both. Gotta go, thank you for the deal, Mr. Enrile, have a nice day.” Brianna left. I wanted to come to her but I remain standing because Margot is here with me.
‘I will recover, Bree, I swear I’ll take it back because you don’t deserve it.’
“Are we going to stand here the whole day?” Maggie said.
“Have a seat.” I sat them down and then ordered food. “What do you want to eat?”
“Anything,” Margot replied.
“You Maggie? No need, don’t eat.”
“You want me to eat you?”
“TSS”
I asked the waiter to bring the menu and they chose. Margot ordered salad only and so did Maggie.
“You Joker, don’t be a womanizer when you grow up and hurt a woman’s feelings. I can accept you become gay and have more men than you rely on a woman or you cheat on a woman. Do you understand?” Joker smile that you thought he really understood Maggie.
“Maggie, Joker is only four months.”
“So? For now, he knows he can’t cheat on a woman, right, Jace?” The crazy looked at me. ‘Yes, fuck you, you crazy. I will burn you.’
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I replied. Maggie smiled at me and looked at Margot’s stomach.
“Joker and your baby are almost the same age. It’s like Hailey and Phoenix’s triplets and twins, so it’s like Joker’s siblings.”
“It’s only 4 weeks, Mag, but I’m excited,” Margot said smiling and it was fun to see her smile.
“You Jace, are you excited?”
“That’s probably my son, who do you want to excite Blaze?”
“Fuck you.” Annoyed she said and their order arrived. I mean it. I accept Margot as the mother of my first child and not Brianna. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t excited about my son. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t love my son. My feelings for Margot are different to my child. This is my child and I will still fight it with anyone. No exemption.
“Baby, did you hear that? Daddy excited to see you, too.” Margot said smiling and looked at me.
“If that will answer you, that’s no longer my nephew.”
“My baby doesn’t want you to be his or her aunt either, Maggie,” I said.
“You’re crazy, Jace.”
“Hey, stop fighting both of you. You were like that until the kids grew up?”
“Because your sister is insane.”
“Same to you.”
“I just stated the fact, you’re the one who started earlier.”
“What me? I just told Joker, then you reacted.”
“Because of—”
“There you are again.” Margot’s rebuke.
“All right, eat now and ignore your insane sister —-”
“Jace!” she scolded.
“Just a joke.” I didn’t argue but I was still looking bad at Maggie and she was the same to me. It’s like we just competed by looking at each other.
“Jace, since you’re already here, come with us to see the event hall,” I looked at Margot and frowned.
“Event hall?”
“He forgot he was getting married, Margot.” Son of —- I just asked.
“Did I say I forgot? Do I know if the event hall you’re talking about is for another party?”
“Why do we care about another party? Maybe you’re thinking of another party? Is there a third party?” Maggie pissed me and she was no longer funny.
“You mean?”
“Maybe you’re expecting another party?” I ignored Maggie’s madness because she was the one to talk to.
“Hey, Umami, when you come out don’t spend too much time with your aunt and you might get infected.”
“Umami?” they both asked.
“Umami, that will be my son’s name.”
“Your boyfriend is even crazier than me.”
“Why are you interfering? Do we interrupt when call your son’s name, Joker?”
“Jace, Umami is not a nice name for the baby, what do you think of your child, a food?”
“Tss, it’s up to you what you call her. But for me, I will call him Umami.” Why? I want Umami. It’s easy to name a child as long as there is a basis. I touched Margot’s stomach and tickled. “I’m baptizing you Umami before the others get ahead of me there.” I look at Maggie. “Umami, you are Umami.”
“Why Umami?”
“That’s what I want Maggie,”
“Ugly name.”
“Who cares.”
“Let’s eat, Maggie and let Jace do what he wants to name his baby.” I looked at Maggie with annoyance. Is it my fault that his mother has the most umami lips and juice I’ve ever tasted?
