Chapter 127 – Cayden has a pregnant wife.
Lily
Cayden?
I don’t think I heard what she said right.
“I don’t understand. What do you mean by Cayden? Cayden did what?” I asked the woman, even though it looked like I was asking Cayden himself.
“You heard me right. Cayden is responsible for this.” She said and she touched her belly. I could see pride in her eyes and I backed away from them with tears in my eyes.
Was Cayden really responsible for the pregnancy? No, that’s not possible. Right?
“Cayden…” I said to him, expecting him to dispute the nonsense the woman was spitting. I looked at him and I saw a look of defeat flash through his eyes.
Oh my God.
The woman is telling the truth.
I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears at all.
Cayden faced the woman and he started asking her if she was okay because he couldn’t remember ever getting into a relationship with her. He continued saying other things, but at that point, I was listening to anything that anyone was saying.
I was way too broken to even listen. I started feeling used. Useless. Betrayed. Upset. Angry. Frustrated. Tired. Annoyed. I just had no words to express how I was feeling.
A little voice at the back of my mind whispered to me to just do something and that sounded really smart to me.
I removed my hand from the chair that I held for support and I walked past Cayden to go inside and change.
When I walked past him, I could hear him calling after me, trying to make me wait, but I wasn’t even interested at all, so I just kept on walking.
Cayden followed me in and he started trying to convince me that the woman outside was just lying against him and that he hadn’t even seen her before, but I was even listening to him at all.
He claimed that he hadn’t seen her before, but she had his number to call several times when she was at the hotel.
Wow, he was being ‘truthful’.
I got dressed quickly and u pushed past him to go outside. When I got to the sitting room, he said, “I’m not the father, Lily. I’ll expose her, I promise. Just wait and listen to what I have to say. Please.”
He was pleading with me, but I wasn’t having it at all. I wasn’t interested in whatever game they were trying to play with me, so I just told him my mind. I told him that I was tired of everything and tired of.. him.
“Just wait, Lily. I can explain.” He said, trying to move close to me.
“Don’t. Just don’t, Cayden. I can’t continue bearing this, I’m sorry.” I said and I wiped the tears that were streaming down my face before leaving the house.
He didn’t go after me.
Cayden’s POV
After Lily was gone, I turned to the woman that wanted to put me in trouble and I started asking her to explain why she did what she did.
“Why? You’re the father of this baby. I’m sure you’ll be a great father.” She said and she smiled at me, while rubbing her belly affectionately.
“Who is the father of your baby?” I said while frowning at her. “Don’t play with me, I don’t have time for rubbish. Just get to the point.” I quickly added when she started smiling at me.
“I’m sure you’ll know that when I give birth. I feel like she’s going to have your eyes, don’t you think?” She said and she tried moving closer to me, but I left that spot.
I was feeling really frustrated by the whole thing and the fact that the woman was playing with the situation and making jokes out of it, wasn’t helping the situation at all.
“I actually plan on staying with you until I give birth. Smart right? Your place is way more comfortable than the hotel.” She said, while looking around my house like I was going to stay here anyway.
“What?! That’s a dream that can never come to pass. You can’t stay here even for one more hour. You have to go back to wherever you came from.” I screamed to her and she watched me closely.
“I’m not even staying here for an hour.” She said and shrugged.
“Thank God.” I said and I was about to help her with her luggages outside, when she added, “I’m staying here for more than an hour. A year, I think?” She said and I watched her in awe.
Where is she from for heaven’s sake?
“Okay, okay. You’ll go back to where you’re coming from and I’ll pay for everything you’ll ever need, but you will never set foot in this house or anywhere around me. Is that fine?” I asked her and she glared at me like I was crazy.
Hey, I’m not the crazy one here. I wanted to scream that at her, but I kept my mouth shut.
The woman wanted to argue, but I was really surprised when she didn’t.
Instead of doing that, she moved closer to me and she told me that she agreed to what I said to her. I was about to rejoice about that, when she told me that if I should ever abandon her, then she would make sure that my company would suffer for it and the news would hear of it.
I agreed to that and I decided to drive her back to the airport. I helped her with her luggages to the car and an hour later, I had already dropped her at the airport. I gave her some money before leaving too. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
After her departure, I started feeling confused emotions. I tried calling Lily, but I realised that she blocked my line.
I decided to drive to her house to ask her why she was hurting me so much.
When I got to her house, I was told that she wasn’t at home and I instantly drove to her shop. She wasn’t there either.
I started panicking about everything because I was wondering where she could be. I was filled with much guilt because I knew that if anything happened to her, then I’d be the cause of it. I started going from one place to another, but I still didn’t find her.
I could feel tears welling up in my eyes and to feel better, I just went back to her shop. I started sulking and blaming myself for everything, when I saw Jarod staring at me.
