LOVE YOU, UNCLE

LYU 45

“Are you seriously not interested at all in joining me to Bali?”

The next morning, once again before heading to the airport, Randy confirmed with his wife about the invitation to go to Bali together. Randy intentionally invited Ghea to join with the intention of slowly building a connection. Who knows, maybe his wife’s heart could soften after this.

“Not that I’m not interested. But, there’s a schedule I can’t leave. After finishing breakfast, I’ll go straight to the campus.”

Randy sighed softly. His hope of inviting Ghea to go to Bali with him was dashed.

“Well then. In that case, I’ll leave first. To avoid traffic and arrive at the airport on time. I’ll be away for three days; take care of yourself. If you need anything, you can ask Sandra or contact Alvin, my assistant. Luckily, he’s always on standby in the office.”

This time, Ghea nodded in understanding. She then got up from her seat, intending to accompany Randy to the car that was ready to take him away this morning.

“Take care on the road, Brother. I pray that everything goes smoothly there.”

Randy just smiled. Before actually getting into the car, he turned his body. Taking a step forward, he gave a brief kiss on Ghea’s forehead and then on her temple alternately.

“I’m leaving now.”

After seeing Randy off, Ghea hurriedly prepared to go to campus. From eight o’clock until ten o’clock, she finally met with her guidance counselor to discuss the internship report she had just submitted.

Once all her affairs were settled at the campus, Ghea quickly asked the driver to take her to the office. Although she had permission, it didn’t feel right to linger.

“Is everything settled for you?”

Joshua initially seemed busy in front of his personal computer. But when he saw Ghea passing by, he stopped working to greet his friend.

“Everything is done. Now, it’s time to finish the office work.”

Just like Joshua, Ghea immediately focused on completing the piled-up work. At exactly twelve during the lunch break, she took a short break, then went to the office cafeteria with Denisa and Joshua.

“So, you were left behind while Bang Toyib went on a business trip to Bali?” Denisa inquired.

“Yes,” Ghea nodded. “Randy will be in Bali for three days to take care of work. I was invited initially, but due to a lot of work, I had to skip.”

“Oh, it’s a shame you’re not going,” Denisa expressed her disappointment. “Going to Bali together could sow the seeds of love between you and Miniso.” As a good friend, she also wanted Ghea to slowly open her heart and start learning to love Randy.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“It’s okay, maybe next time we can go together. Besides, I prefer to stay here than to go. I can still meet you and Joshua every day,” Ghea said, sounding somewhat melancholic.

While having lunch, Ghea continued the conversation. A few minutes later, her ears suddenly felt hot. From the table right behind her, a group of about four girls was gathered, apparently discussing her husband.

“They said there’s a meeting and important gathering of all property investors and construction vendors in Bali today, right?” one of them asked.

“Yes, I saw Ms. Stella has been busy preparing materials for that important meeting for days.”

“Ms. Stella is the right choice to accompany Mr. Randy to Bali. From her performance alone, Ms. Stella is more convincing and very smart in mastering all kinds of materials.”

“That’s right, I’ve said that Ms. Stella clicks and matches better with Mr. Randy. Their chemistry is very strong. Besides, Ms. Stella is mature and smart. She’s Mr. Randy’s ideal type. Not like his current wife, who is just like a child.”

All four of them then burst into laughter. Ghea, who heard all these words, felt angry and furious. It wasn’t fair for her to be the subject of gossip and comparison.

She wanted to confront them, but Denisa quickly restrained Ghea to prevent any commotion.

Frustrated, Ghea decided to go back to her room after lunch. As soon as she arrived, instead of entering immediately, she diverted her steps to a different room to meet someone. She thought there was something she had to do immediately.

“Come in,” a man inside the room ordered when Ghea knocked on the door.

“Excuse me, sir,” Ghea said politely.

The man in the black suit looked up. He stared in surprise, then asked about Ghea’s sudden visit.

“Ms. Ghea, what’s the matter? Do you need something?”

Alvin, the man in the room, immediately asked. Worried that there was something important that Randy’s wife wanted to convey and he needed to execute it immediately.

“Sorry, Mr. Alvin, for disturbing your time. According to Mr. Randy, if I need something, I can ask for your help.”

Alvin nodded. He was indeed delegated by Randy to handle and provide assistance whenever Ghea needed help.

“Yes… Do you need my help, Ms. Ghea?”

Ghea, who nodded this time, confidently conveyed her purpose and the reason for her sudden visit to the room.

“Right now, Mr. Randy is on a business trip to Bali. So, could I ask for Mr. Alvin’s help to take care of all my needs for Bali as well?”

Alvin reflexively blinked his eyes.

“What do you mean? Does Ms. Ghea want to catch up with Mr. Randy in Bali?”

Again, Ghea interrupted.

“Yes, if possible, I want to catch up with Randy to Bali this evening. Can I?”

“Sure. Absolutely,” Alvin nodded confidently. It’s not difficult to handle all the necessities for a sudden departure. “I’ll arrange the tickets and everything now so that Ms. Ghea can leave this evening.”

Ghea smiled widely.

“Thank you so much, Mr. Alvin, for your help. But, I hope Mr. Alvin doesn’t need to say anything. Just consider it as a surprise for Randy.”

Alvin nodded and immediately carried out the tasks assigned by Ghea. Meanwhile, Ghea continued to smile triumphantly. In any case, she would not allow Stella, the room freshener, to be alone in Bali with her husband, whether it’s for personal or business matters. Never!
