Alexa picked the phone up again and continued scrolling through the news article till she got to the comment section.
Like she’d predicted, toxic fans were very much against it, she scrolled more trying to see if any comments supported their marriage, and to her relief…
There was, but not as much as the toxic ones.
She sighed in relief.
At last, she won’t be dealing with the whole of Anderson’s girl fans that wanted him all to themselves.
She decided to go off the internet for a while.
She couldn’t have mere fans making her restless.
She switched off her WiFi and placed the phone on the table gently to prevent it from cracking.
She placed her head on the pillow and sighed.
Her life was turned upside down. Everything was now opposite to how it was before.
She closed her eyes to go into dreamland, but Anderson’s instruction floated at the back of her eyes.
>Come here with your brother tomorrow pm.< Alexa snorted and opened her eyes, before rolling them. She didn't wanna live with him, but she hadn't any choice. She dragged her feet lazily and went down the stairs to the basement below to get some cartons to stash their books in. She got some and went back up. She went to Jace's room first and kissed his forehead before heading down to the reason why she was in his room. Picking the books Jace used to use while he was being homeschooled when their parents were still alive on the shelf, she found hardly a spec of dust on it. Her face curved into a smile. This meant one thing. Jace still read even though he wasn't being schooled anymore and the book was below his age. She placed the books softly into the box and left when she was done. The books weren't that many. She dropped the box at the head of the staircase and went into her room. Anderson had indeed said not to bring any wears, but she wasn't gonna leave her undies here right? She damned all consequences as she threw her bra and panties inside a box before sealing it. Taking another box, she put all her books in it. Unlike Jace, she wasn't the reading type and different microbes had taken to her books for shelter. The proof was the heavy amount of dust on the books. Lifting the books, she took the box and placed it behind Jace's. Next was the box where her undies were lying in. She picked up Jace's box, went down the stairs, and placed it somewhere easy to pick up from if going outside. She did the same thing for the other two boxes, walked to the bathroom to wash her hands and sweaty face, went into her room, and plopped on her bed before drifting off to sleep. °Next day° ... 10 am... "Jace, wake up," Alexa called as she shook her brother vigorously. The day passed, and they ended up waking around 8 pm, making late dinner, eating and discussing today, making them stay awake till 3 am this morning. But that was no reason to be all lazy! She'd given Jace enough time to sleep. Were seven good hours not enough? She called his name again, shaking him move vigorously this time and he stirred. "Yes, Alexa?" He muttered a question as he rolled over and squinted his eye a little to show he was half asleep. "I need you to come downstairs and wash up. " Alexa commanded. "What time is it?" Jace asked still sleepy. It's 10 am." Alexa replied, went out of his room, and left him alone. Jace went down the stairs moments later, washed up, and went back up to get dressed. Fully awake now, he jogged down the stairs, skipping a few and landing on many. He knew that Alexa would be in the kitchen, so he headed there to help. "What you doing?" He asked as he walked toward Alexa. "I'm making breakfast. Spaghetti to be precise." Alexa replied. "Anything I can help with?" "Not really. I'm almost done." Alexa smiled at him. "OK then." Jace said and went into the living room. Some moments later saw Jace sighing and tossing on the furniture very bored. Not knowing what else to do, he called out to Alexa. "Lexie, I'm bored..." "Go take my phone upstairs, I downloaded some games from the store before going to bed last night." Alexa answered from the kitchen. "Thank you!" Jace screamed happily before sauntering off to her room to get the phone. He had a stressful moment trying to learn how to play the game and win, but at last, he did. And when the game was getting interesting, there was a sudden call. He rushed down the stairs. "Alexa you have a call." He said and handed Alexa her phone. Alexa looked at the screen confused. There was no caller ID, but she decided to pick it up anyway. "Hello?" Alexa spoke into the phone, unsure if she made the right decision by picking an unknown call. "Hello, munchkin." The person spoke and instantly, Alexa knew who it was. "Anderson?" "Correct." "How'd you get my phone number?" Alexa asked. "I bought and registered the Sim card in your phone." "Huh?" Alexa asked surprised. "Wait, do you think your phone came with a Sim? Or you think it appeared there magically?" Anderson asked sarcastically. "Whatever. Why are you calling?" Alexa asked. "To specifically indicate the time I want you in my house." "And what's the time?" "Be at my house on or before 6 pm." Anderson said. "Won't you be at work still?" "I'll come back home early. Just make sure you prepare dinner." "But..." Alexa tried to protest, but Anderson immediately hung up. "Foolish bastard!" Alexa cussed loudly, forgetting Jace's presence. "What's it?" Jace asked. "He wants us over by 6 pm and instructed me to make dinner when we arrive at his place." Alexa sighed. "Foolish bastard!"
