Ending Liam
Author’s POV
She decided in her heart that Melissa would go through the same fate Lorraine went through, all she needed was time to sort out Liam’s case.
Since Dexter couldn’t give her a listening ear, she had to go on with her father’s plan or her secret would be out.
She dialed Leonardo’s number and stomped on her foot on the ground, waiting for him to pick up. He finally answered the call at the second ring.
“Did he listen to you?” Leonardo asked almost nonchalantly.
“No, he didn’t. That Melissa bitch was there with him, maybe that was why he didn’t give me a good response. I’ve told you that we need to eliminate the witch because she has disrupted my relationship with him.” She said and Leonardo chuckled over the phone.
“You have my permission to end Liam, but in your quest to keep your secrets hidden, do not hurt Melissa until I’m done with her. Do you get me?” He warned her, his voice stern and void of any hint of playfulness.
She didn’t like his decision, but she had to go through with it if she still wanted to be protected by him. Her father was the reason she was still a free woman to this point.
With all the atrocities she had committed, she should have been caught and sentenced to death if she didn’t have someone cleaning up after her. And if she still wanted things to remain that way, then she’d have to do everything he said.
“Alright, father. I’ll go in there tonight and do as we planned. We don’t have much time anymore.”
“Be careful, Emilia. Don’t mess this up. I already have a lot on my plate and I’m on the verge of losing my position in this fucking company. If you get caught, you’ll have to take responsibility for it.” The line dropped dead as she shivered subconsciously.
She had to get it right, so she forgot about Melissa’s embarrassment and headed to an unknown pharmacy where she could get the materials for Liam’s elimination.
************
It was late in the evening when no one paid attention to their family members who were locked up in the police station, and that was when she decided to strike.
She was clad in a black body-con jumpsuit that hugged her curves, and a blue denim jacket. She wore a blowout burgundy wig to cover up her natural hair and a black mask to cover her face.
Her heart accelerated faster than usual, not because it was her first time committing murder, but because she had to be meticulous about it or she’d get caught right there.
She doused the cup of whiskey on her vanity table and dragged in a deep breath. The syringe in her hand was filled with the potent chemical that would destroy his organs slowly while he burned silently in pain.
In his next life, he would know better than to mess with her.
She got into her car and drove to the station, hoping that he hadn’t been moved yet, like Dexter said. Fortunately for her, she got there right before most of the inmates got moved.
She stopped at his cell and signaled for him to come over.
“It’s good to see you again, but why am I not out of here yet?” He snickered and she rolled her eyes, closing the distance between them so that just the iron bars would be the only barrier.
“You’ll be out soon, Liam. You need to learn how to be patient. I’ve told you this over and over again.” She said, patting his shoulder with a grim smirk.
He licked his lips and trailed his fingers across her face. “I miss you, Emilia. You don’t know how much I do. Do you want to know what keeps me going?” His had turned slurry and seductive, his eyes filled with glints of lust.
“What’s that?”She asked flatly.
“The thought of you and our daughter.” He stated and she glowered.
A scoff fell off her lips as she folded her arms. “You’d better stop saying that before someone else hears our conversation, and stop saying that Lilly is your daughter because she’s not. You are just a sperm donor while Dexter is the real father.”
Liam’s grin switched into a frown. “How dare you say that to me? Aren’t you the one that never allowed me into her life in the first place?”
“That’s because you are broke and whatever happened between us was a mistake. Thankfully, that act helped me to achieve something that I’d been craving for years.”
“And you know that a simple DNA test can make him have negative feelings for you. I wonder how you’d cope if you were in my situation. It’s not easy to dress in this annoying two-piece with your freedom taken from you. You won’t be able to eat what you want and for someone like you that depends on make-up to look good, I think you’ll be looking like a stuffed dull.” He messed around with her, apparently enjoying how her breathing came in hitches.
She poked at his chest and clenched her teeth, a red hue cast over her cheeks. “You shouldn’t have spoken to me in this manner, Liam, because I’m your only way out of here.” She smirked cynically and he tilted his head in surprise.
“What are you talking about? I’ve sent a text to Dexter and if you don’t get me out of here now, he’ll get to know about all the dirty secrets you’ve been keeping from him.” He threatened and she burst into laughter.
“This is one of the reasons I never gave you access to my daughter because you are so dumb, Liam. The number one rule of being a real criminal is learning how to keep your mouth shut. You’ve told me your plans and you think I won’t do anything about it?” Her eyes darkened and his face formed a scowl.
“What are you on about?”
Emilia gave the hallway a thorough scrutiny and stylishly produced the syringe from the pocket of her denim jacket.
“What makes you think that I’ll soil my hands and get you out of here when you are only going to create more problems for me?” She allowed her words to settle before continuing. “You won’t get the chance to say anything to Dexter because I’m going to-”
Liam’s eyes widened in realization and in a fleeting second, he snaked his arm around Emilia’s neck, pressing her to the bar so that he could strangle her.
His other fingers closed around her neck and he gripped it tightly while she let out a muffled sound. Her eyes were becoming misty as she panted, then she allowed herself to get close to him.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Using his anger as a distraction, she jabbed the syringe at the side of his stomach. He let her go in an instant and held onto his stomach as he yelped in pain.
Emilia massaged her neck and panted heavily as she tried to even her breath. “Sorry, baby daddy, but you just have to join Sarah’s mother wherever she is.” She snarled and put the syringe into her pocket.
She walked out of the cell, her steps fluid and fast as she didn’t want anyone to notice what she had done.
In the process of hurriedly getting out, she nearly bumped into a female officer who was heading toward the hallway she just come from.
“Watch your step lady!” The woman hollered.
“I’m sorry,” She apologized as she had grazed the officer’s shoulder, causing the syringe to fall off her pocket unnoticed.
