Chapter 51
{Oh! The successor.}
Ava POV (Carrie Restaurant)
I got out of my car, and Janice also got out. All thanks to Madam Nada for buying this for me, and Janice also thought I should try and call her mom, it might relieve her from the stress of how things are in her life. So here we are in Carrie Restaurant, a restaurant owned by whoever Janice said she knows.
She claims the lady is famous at my mom’s clubbing house, well, I guess my position to handle the business is starting somewhere. Seeing the exterior was giving me thought to expect more than what was outside. Janice greeted a few people outside and winked at some while some had my greetings.
“I don’t know you are this famous to be a stripper. ” I blurt out without thinking about how she will feel. Instantly, I held her hand and she smiled. Wait, did she just do that?
“You’re just being honest by the way. I’m just gathering rich and influential people. I might need their help one day, same goes for you. ” She whispered in my ear and I arched my brows. Is she for real?
“Wow, I wasn’t expecting the interior and exterior to be this satisfying and attractive enough. ” I gasped as we stepped in.
“That’s the effect of staying indoors for almost half a year. It’s normal though. But now it is different. Your ass will be almost everywhere because some celebrities like having some strippers sent over. And you are to arrange us for that, we STRIPPERS. ” She chuckled, after emphasizing the word strippers.
“Janice. ” I pouted, feeling guilty.
“How may I help you? ” She chuckled again and winked at me.
“I’m feeling–”
“Janice… ” Someone called out her name, cutting me off.
“Carrie. She smiled genuinely. ”
“Tsk, now she’s faking that smile, when it’s obvious she’s angry with me. ” I roll my eyes. Quietly following them behind, we took the stairs, while my eyes kept checking out how well-furnished the restaurant was.
“So I finally get to meet you, Ava Addams. ” Carrie’s words jolted me out of my thoughts.
“I’m sorry for not introducing–”
“It’s fine dear, I should be sorry. Got carried away after seeing my friend here.
“Oh, she addresses Janice as a friend, great job in securing this, Janice.” I thought while the lady introduced herself.
“My name is Carrie Wood, CEO of Carrie’s Kitchen which is in Texas here, California and other branches across some States. It’s nice seeing the Nadaline successor. ”
“Successor??! ” I stuttered as she offered us a chair to sit on, with a well-furnished table matching the chair. I turn my gaze back to Janice.
“What does that mean? ” I asked, seriously looking confused because I’m really confused.
“Don’t get my words in the wrong way dear, Janice told me Nada handed over the business to you for a while, while she went on vacation… Her vacation is so sudden I wasn’t expecting her to go on a vacation because there’s something we both have to do. But Janice said she needs it because she isn’t feeling too well. ” She explained, making an apology after.
She probably made excuses to get something for us. My mind drifts back to her words, successor. SUCCESSOR??? What a puzzle I have to find answers to. Deeply lost in thought till a thought came to my mind. Is Janice hiding something from me that I don’t know?
“Ava!!!!! ”
“What?!! ” I yell. Why did you scream my name like that, jolting me out of my thoughts?
“I’m sorry, I was just worried… What are you thinking about? ” She asked, checking out their menu.
“Nothing, just wondering how tonight is going to go. ” I mumbled, picking up my phone.
“What would you like to have? ”
“Just chicken and fries and chilled milk with it. ” I replied, checking if Gold sent a message. But I guess she wants to go her separate ways. I’m not going to force friendship and she shouldn’t meddle in my business.
“Hey. ” The cool, deep voice came into the air. I had to move my eyes away from my phone to see if someone was in front of us. And someone was truly in front of us.
“Rucker Marshall! ” Janice gasped as she stood up to extend her hand towards his.
“Oh, I guess you are a fan. ” He smiled, revealing his white set of teeth. Nearly and perfectly arranged.
“Yes! I’m… a fan… “She stuttered, rubbing her palms together.
“A famous chef, Rucker Marshall. Nice to see him here, but what’s he doing at my table???? ” I thought, looking at how Janice is shaking. She can’t even regulate her breathing rate, I guess she’s a fan of his. Gosh, why is she acting so stupid all of the sudden? Is this the Janice I know?
“Janice! ” I call out her name, because Why not, Janice is simply embarrassing herself and she’s embarrassing me. So, he’s a fan of his.
“Ava meet–”
“Rucker Marshall! So! Seriously, you need to seat your ass down and place our order. Why are you shaking in front of him? ” I half yell, and she seems shocked. She thought I won’t talk about what. And she slowly sits down, I reach to take her phone and remove the pouch.
Returning my gaze to Rucker,
“Here, you can sign for your die-hard fan anyway. ” I uttered, handing him her white phone pouch. He hesitated to keep me waiting. That made me angry and I took his hand and placed the pouch on his palm.
“Sign bro. Or you don’t autograph. ” I uttered, in a cool normal voice. He started chuckling and he scoffed.
“How rude of you? ” He sounded pissed and he signed on Janice’s pouch.
“Rude??! Showing up at one’s table without an invite… Like WTF is wrong with you celebrities… Because you are famous, you think you can control everything just by wishing for power and influence… Get the fuck outta here son of a bitch–”
“Ava!!! ”
“Shut the fuck up, Janice. ” I yelled. I inhale and exhale before catching my breath.
“Why am I pissed? ” I ask myself, as I run my hand through my hair.
“Ava… ” My name rolls out of his mouth and rolls my eyes.
“A nice name for someone rude like you… I pray we see again. ” He uttered and chuckled before turning around. Walking away, I watch his back view and roll my eyes.
“I’m sorry for the interruption. ” Janice apologized to everyone around and they faced their respective tables, food and whoever was with them.
“What was that Ava? Janice asked, looking so furious and she wasn’t smiling at all.
“He just happened to come at the wrong time.. and the way you were doing in front of him got me off. ” I explained and she sighed…
“Same way you were doing in front of martin till you fucked you!. Seriously, you acted so stupid and you acted new, a few minutes ago… Because I have never seen you react to things like this. ” She wondered, visible expressions of a worried face.
“That was a mistake, which was bound to happen… ” I mumbled, turning my gaze away.
“Then why did you act unreal seconds ago? ”
“Like I said Janice, he came at the wrong time… It’s nothing. Can you place our order now? ” I asked, trying to calm my nerves…Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Our order was received when you were busy displaying your madness in front of Rucker–”
“Marshall? Enough of him. ”
“Ava, there’s something you are not talking to me about. ” She asked, as she stared deep into my eyes. Her hands gently took mine into hers.
