My Ex-husband Begs Me Back

Chapter 1535: Destruction

Chapter 1535: Destruction

Camille shook her head and said, "It's nothing."

She glanced at Preston and said, "I've said what I wanted to say. If you don't have anything else, I'll leave now."

Camille got into the car and closed the door smoothly, without any hesitation. After starting the engine, she lowered the window and glanced at Preston. She said, "Preston, I've already told you that I won't try

to change or advise you. But since you mentioned our past relationship today, let me say one more thing: If it's still possible, it's not too late to stop now and not persist in your delusions."

If they turned back now and stopped all of this, they could still be ordinary friends, or at least not become enemies in the future.

However, Camille also knew that Preston couldn't change anymore, or else he wouldn't have waited until now.

Camille didn't wait for Preston's response because she knew he couldn't respond. The bodyguard stood a few steps away, ready to intervene at any moment, restricting him.

He could only watch Camille drive away, unable to do anything to stop her.

After Camille and the bodyguard left the parking lot, Preston took out his phone from his pocket. The screen displayed an eleven-minute recording.

He smirked slightly, a faint smile appearing on his lips, and whispered to himself, "Camille, oh Camille, I know more about you than you think."

Camille didn't dwell on the encounter with Preston and didn't mention it to Ayan during dinner, not wanting to spoil the mood.

After finishing their meal, the two of them went home.

The bodyguard had already reported the incident to Ayan, so even if Camille didn't bring it up, Ayan already knew.

They sat in the backseat of the car, with the driver behind the wheel.

Camille looked at the night scenery outside the window. Although she saw it almost every day, the lights of Hance City at night were still dazzling and captivating. Ayan held Camille's hand in his palm the entire time, and even when he gently squeezed it, she didn't react unexpectedly.

The atmosphere continued like this for a while until Ayan spoke up, "Is there anything you want to tell me?"

Camille was taken aback and didn't think about the direction of the parking lot. She casually replied, "No."

With those three words, a brief silence filled the air.

Since Camille didn't hear his response, she instinctively turned her head to look at him. Their eyes met at that moment, and Camille asked, somewhat puzzled, "What's wrong with you?" Why did he seem so burdened without saying a word?

Camille lightly pursed her lips, her face slightly pale. She kept staring at him, wanting to see what was going on with him.

Ayan smiled lightly but his voice was low, "There really isn't anything to say?"

Camille was uncertain, and she found herself doubting. She asked tentatively, "Did you think of me today?"

She looked at Ayan, her smile faint. Seeing that he didn't speak, she thought her guess was correct, so she quickly added, "I thought of you a lot today. What about you? Did you think of me?" Ayan answered earnestly, "I did, very much."

His voice was low and husky, carrying a hint of sexiness.

After he spoke, the slightly solemn expression on his face remained. Camille noticed and started to speculate about what was going on with Ayan. She didn't know what was bothering him. She pursed her lips and fell into a brief silence, then spoke up, "What's wrong with you? Was my answer not sincere enough?"

Ayan gazed at her, his eyes filled with a faint smile. He said, "Is it possible that what I was asking wasn't about that?"

Camille was taken aback for a moment, then immediately realized what he meant. She quickly said, "I know what you want to ask now."

Camille laughed. She found it amusing how Ayan was holding back, wanting to know something desperately but refusing to ask directly, instead asking if she had anything to say.

Seeing his restrained expression,

funny. She knew that Ayan knew she had figured it out, so she didn't say anything and just looked at him calmly. The look in his eyes seemed to say, "Let's see how long you can keep laughing."

Camille asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I'm watching you laugh at me," he replied in a muffled voice, sounding a bit aggrieved.

"Why are you so adorable?" Camille reached out and gently pinched his cheek. Describing a man as adorable wasn't necessarily a good thing, but Ayan didn't mind. As long as she liked it, even if it meant acting cute, he was happy to accept it.

Camille leaned closer and kissed his cheek before casually saying, "The bodyguard told you everything?"

"Not much, just a regular report,"

replied the bodyguard. He only

informed Ayan that Preston had

confronted Camille at the parking lot

today. Ayan's initial reaction was to

find someone to beat Preston up,

but after calming down, he thought

it would be better to hear what

Camille had to say.

Camille knew the bodyguard would inform Ayan, and she didn't mind. She explained in detail what had happened at the time.

After listening, Ayan remained silent for a while. Camille glanced at him and whispered, "He must be anxious or trying to get information about you from me. But I didn't say anything and didn't cooperate with him."

Ayan nodded, not because he didn't trust Camille, but because he wanted her to tell him everything willingly, to share with him instead of bearing it alone.

Ayan told Camille, "If he approaches you again, just call the police. No need to show any mercy."

Camille nodded, "Okay, I'll do as you say. If I see him again, I'll immediately call the police."

Seeing her resolute promise, Ayan couldn't help but laugh, and the atmosphere in the car became relaxed.

Camille still had some concerns and asked, "Are you really not angry?"

"No, he's not worth our anger, nor does he have the right to ruin our relationship," Ayan replied.

"Yeah, you're right, he's not worthy!" Camille agreed.

The smile on his lips hadn't faded when he heard Camille say those words, so he burst into laughter. He lightly pinched Camille's chin and asked in a low voice, "Are those your true feelings? Or are you just saying them to please me?"

"Of course, they're my true feelings.

How could you question my

neo

sincerity?" Camille held his hand and gently leaned her head on his shoulder. She said, "I'm not worried

that you'll do anything to her m

only concerned about what he might

do to you."

In reality, Camille had a sense that he had always been concerned about the friendship between her and Preston because they had spent more time together and knew each other better. So he had always been sensitive about their relationship.

Although he hadn't said it out loud, such thoughts naturally existed in his mind.

Camille was being proactive and honest, hoping he wouldn't burden himself with unnecessary thoughts. She didn't want the most important person in her life to feel insecure.

However, Ayan had no idea about Camille's current thoughts because his mind was on a completely different level when it came to matters related to Camille.

Because he was currently thinking about something else in his head.
