Chapter 1557 A Divorce

When Johanna arrived at Ingenuity Entertainment, the secretary informed her that Zander had gone to

a meeting and asked her to wait for a while.

Zander's office was decorated in a typical business style. On the coffee table in the reception area,

there was a candle, seemingly with a sandalwood scent. The scent was faint but pleasant.

Perhaps due to the lack of rest for the past few days, Johanna fell asleep leaning against the sofa in no

time.

Suddenly, Johanna felt a pat on her shoulder. As she opened her eyes, she saw Zander standing in

front of her. “I'm sorry, I fell asleep. Are you done with your meeting?” she asked.

“I finished the meeting quite a while ago,” Zander said, holding back a laugh. “But you seemed really

tired, so I didn't disturb your sleep.”

Johanna picked up her phone to check the time, only to realize she had dozed off from nine till half-

past eleven in the morning. It wasn't until lunchtime that Zander couldn't help but wake her up.

Zander took Johanna to a restaurant for a meal, and by the end of it, the two had sealed a deal for

cooperation.

By the time Johanna finished her tasks and returned to her studio, it was almost three in the afternoon.

Her phone had been silent all day. Not a single message from Timothy had come through. Why didn't he ask me anything when I had failed to show up at the Civil Affairs Bureau?

Since Denise was with Yvonne, she knew the truth about the news. Johanna wanted to call and ask,

but she just couldn't dial the number.

She agreed to divorce Timothy, and even though they had arranged to meet at the Civil Affairs Bureau

at nine, she stood him up. Hence, it wasn't important whether the news was true or false.

After staying in the studio until it got dark, Johanna made a call to the housekeeper.

“Mr. Timothy came home at half-past five and he seems to be in a good mood,” the housekeeper

informed Johanna. “Ms. Joule, will you be coming home later? What would you like for dinner?”

“I'm not going over there,” Johanna said with a light smile.

After finishing her work, Johanna returned to her apartment. She hadn't video-called Asel these past

two days because she had been spending time with her.

Perhaps she had slept too long at Zander's company in the morning, so she just couldn't fall asleep

after getting into bed.

In a daze, Johanna fell asleep and had a nightmare, a feeling she hadn't experienced in a long time. In

her dream, Asel was crying out for her mother, but no matter how hard Johanna tried, she couldn't

catch up with the child and Timothy. Suddenly, the ground beneath them transformed into a dark abyss.

Johanna jolted awake as if she had fallen into an abyss. A chill ran down her spine, and she quickly put

on her coat and hurriedly drove to Timothy's place.

It was midnight, so the housekeepers had long since gone to bed. After Johanna rang the doorbell, it

was Timothy who opened the door. Timothy could tell from her pajamas that she had clearly rushed

over.

“What's wrong?” he asked.

“It's nothing. I just wanted to see Asel,” Johanna said, pursing her lips. She headed straight to the

second floor's children's room but didn't find the child. In the end, she found the little one sleeping

sweetly on the bedroom bed.

The little one was particularly fond of fluffy little lambs, even insisting on cuddling one while sleeping.

Before long, Timothy entered the bedroom.

Seeing Johanna sitting by the bed watching the child, he spoke softly and helplessly, “She couldn't fall

asleep because she couldn't find that little lamb. I searched for a long time before I found it under the

bed. I only managed to coax her to sleep half an hour ago.”

“Didn't Asel sleep with you last night? Didn't she fuss about wanting this toy?” Timothy asked.

Johanna shook her head. “No. she fell asleep after a little coaxing.”

Timothy pulled a chair next to Johanna, and after sitting down, he asked her, “What made you suddenly This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

decide to come and see Asel?”

“I had a nightmare. I dreamt that Asel was crying.” Johanna felt distressed, so she hurried over.

After she finished speaking, she took the initiative to say to Timothy, “I didn't deliberately avoid going to

the Civil Affairs Bureau this morning. It's just that Zander invited me to discuss a collaboration. I haven't

been resting well these past few days, and unexpectedly, I ended up sleeping all morning at his place.”

“I guessed you were busy, so I didn't disturb you,” Timothy said nonchalantly. “It's okay. If you couldn't

make it today, we can go tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, Johanna turned her head to look at him. “Do you really want a divorce?”
