Chapter 232
Chapter 232
Out of nowhere, the suited enforcers stepped aside, clearing a path. Eaden walked through, calm as a cucumber, stopping at the private room's entrance. He gave Quim a look that could kill, the dark threat in his eyes unmistakable.
He said in an even tone, "Quim, you think you can just waltz into Drunham City and turn it on its head? Who do you think you are, going after Mr. Cole like that? You want to throw down, you gotta get past me, Eaden, first!" His words were calm. However, they carried a force that swept through the room like a tidal wave.
Eaden's entrance made Quim's face fall. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
They sent a clear threat that Quim could not ignore. His eyes blazed with anger and a fierce fire as he snapped, "Mr. Wafer, that punk hurt my daughter and killed some of my men! There's no way I'm letting him off the hook today. I don't care what he means to you. Today, I'm dealing with him! Don't think your presence here changes anything, Mr. Wafer. Even if the king himself showed up, I'd make him pay!"
Quim might rule a slice of Drunham City's underworld, but he is no match for Eaden, one of the big three in Willoughby.
When it came to the underground scene, he was just a notch below Eaden. However, in situations that got down and dirty, particularly when it came to playing hardball, Quim might have just given Eaden a run for his money.
Yet, what happened next had Quim and all the tough guys in the room picking their jaws up off the floor. Some pinched themselves, thinking they were dreaming, their eyes bulging as they took in the sight before them.
Eaden, after hearing Quim's venomous words, just chuckled. He turned on his heel, the icy look gone from his face, and walked over to Liam with the utmost respect. He bowed deeply and said, "Mr. Cole! Forgive me for my tardiness. I am at your service for any reprimand."
Eaden finished speaking and bowed deeply before Liam with a surprising display of humility. He stood there, the picture of reverence as if he would wait indefinitely for Liam's reprimand if Liam remained silent.
Quim's eyes nearly popped out of his head, his gaze filled with sheer astonishment.
Who was Eaden, after all? He was untouchable in all of Drunham City, even stretching to Willoughby. Not only did he reign over the city's shadowy underworld, but he was also one of its leading entrepreneurs.
Yet there he was, groveling for forgiveness before a man so young?
Quim, observing Eaden's deference to Liam, sensed that he might have seriously underestimated the situation. Had he inadvertently stumbled into a mess he could not handle?
Liam gave a nonchalant hum, not rushing Eaden to rise, and asked casually, "So? Can you take care of it?"
Eaden shot up, thumping his chest with assurance. "Mr. Cole, no harm will come to you, rest assured."
"Stand up," Liam said, his expression softening ever so slightly at the response.
"My deepest thanks for your mercy, Mr. Cole!" Eaden replied, swiftly getting to his feet with a respectful nod.
Eaden was aware that even without his presence, a small fry like Quim would not be able to touch Liam.
Kolten had only revealed a fraction of Liam's true identity to him, but even that glimpse was enough to startle Eaden, a man who had seen it all. Liam was someone with connections that seemed to reach the skies themselves!
Forget about him. Even the big shots like Malcolm from Drunham City and Police Chief Howard tipped their hats to Liam!
