Chapter 415 Being Forced to Kneel

“Janet…”

“I have a meeting to attend later, so take your time and eat, goodbye.”

Janet finished speaking and walked away without looking back.

Donahueiel picked up the napkin on his lap and threw it on the dining table, his face full

of displeasure.

Janet was not there, so Donahueiel lost his appetite and went straight back to the office.

Just returned to the office, the secretary brought a thick

pile of documents that needed Donahueiel’s signature.

Alfred walked

up and customarily helped Donahueiel sort the papers, but Donahueiel pressed the papers

with one hand.

“Mr. Webster?”

“You don’t have to mind these. I have more important things to send you to do.” This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

Donahueiel’s long, slender fingers rubbed circles on his watch. His cold, lonely eyes were sharp.

“Go investigate what projects Longfellow Group contracted and participated in three years ago before I

was married to Janet.”

“Especially the projects Janet was in charge of. Give me all the tallies, with time to

detail.”

Alfred led the order and left, “Yes.”

Glancing at the mountain of papers, Donahueiel pushed them aside for a moment and turned on his co

mputer, his fingertips tapping rapidly on the keyboard.

When exactly did Janet meet him, and how did she fall for him, and why did he have no memory of it?

Donahueiel’s narrow eyes were half–hidden by hair. The dappled color blocks on the

computer screen were reflected in his pupils and sucked into the deep swirls of his eyes.

Cut Bo

He must find out the answer and get Janet back!

In the evening, Janet returned from work to the Green family mansion.

As soon as she walked through the courtyard door, Lawrence greeted her and

respectfully took Janet’s bag.

“Ms. Longfellow, Ms. Poole has been waiting in the living room for your return and hasn’t

left.”

Janet nodded and walked straight into the living room.

Coral leaned crookedly on the cushions, her high heels taken off and tossed aside.

“You’re quite comfortable.” Janet’s tone was cold.

Coral was impatiently tapping at her phone when she heard Janet’s cold voice and

winced, staring at Janet in disbelief.

“Get off, who gave you permission to lie on it.‘

Janet ripped away the cushion behind Coral, tugging Coral to nearly fell to the floor.

Coral didn’t even have lunch and

waited here until the evening. She was tired, hungry, and angry, and without the timidity of midday, she

sat up and yelled at Janet.

“Janet, do you have any humanity? I’ve been waiting here for nearly eight hours, and my back is aching

from sitting. I can’t even lie down on your couch?”

Coral glared at Lawrence, who was standing to the side, and was even more furious.

“Also, this housekeeper of yours is acting like a puppet, he doesn’t even give me a glass of water, and

he doesn’t know anything. I’m starving to death!”

Janet’s expression was calm. She clasped her arms indifferently and examined Coral.

“It’s better if you’re hungry. Only when you’re hungry does your brain stay awake.”

Coral was angry and flushed, “I think you are the one who is not clear–headed!”

“What the hell did you call me here for? Didn’t I just accidentally misread it? I’ve already apologized to y

ou, why are you so unforgiving?”

Get Bo

“If apologizing is useful, why do I need the police?”

Janet raised her voice and scolded her.

Coral was still cursing endlessly, Janet sidestepped to Lawrence and instructed.

“Lawrence, escort her upstairs and take her to my brother’s room.”

If referring to the three brothers of the Smedley family, they would normally be called in

order of age. Only one person could be called “brother” by Janet.

That was Mr. Webster.

Lawrence quickly realized that Coral had probably offended Mr. Webster, no wonder Ms. Longfellow wa

s so angry.

Lawrence’s expression changed from kind to sharp. He stepped forward and clamped

Coral’s hands behind her back with force.

“Ouch!!!”

Coral screamed in pain, raised her voice, and cursed at Lawrence.

“You old bastard, you dare to use so much force on me! Don’t you want to live anymore?”

Lawrence ignored her screams and carried Coral upstairs without a word.

Coral didn’t even have time to put on her shoes, so she stumbled and was dragged upstairs, her naked

legs bruised and battered under her skirt.

Opening the door, Lawrence pushed Coral in.

The room was dark and unlit, and the curtains were

tightly drawn, so Coral subconsciously shrank up and felt around in mid–air.

“Janet? Janet, why don’t you turn on the light?”

Coral’s heart was beating wildly. She groped around apprehensively.

Suddenly, her fingertips touched something cold and slippery, causing her to scream in terror.

“Ghost!!!”

“Snap!”

The room’s light was turned on and the room was instantly bright.

Janet stood in the doorway with her arms clasped, looking mockingly at Coral’s frightened face.

Coral looked up and saw that what she had touched was just a model of an anime

character of human height, with a layer of silicone–infused exterior.

Coral was still scared and her hand was flapping on her chest.

Everything in this house was clean and tidy, and Lawrence would send someone in every

few days to clean it up.

The furnishings were simple, a table and chair, a bed, and a large bookshelf.

There seemed to be something hanging on the top of the bookshelf, covered with a

black cloth.

For some reason, Coral felt that there was something scary hidden behind the black

cloth, and she didn’t dare to look at it.

Janet put the door on and went to the mannequin. Her fingers rubbed gently on it as if

she was caressing someone through it.

The look in Janet’s eyes was so strange, her movements so bizarre, that Coral became increasingly

uneasy, and she couldn’t help but cower back.

“Janet, where is this place? What do you want? I’m warning you, don’t do anything

wrong, or I’ll call the police!”

Coral was still pretending to be calm, but her trembling shoulders had already revealed

her panic.

Janet’s voice echoed softly between Coral’s ears.

“This model was my brother’s favorite once upon a time, and I spent

a lot of money to customize it from abroad and give it to him as a twentieth birthday present.”

Her brother?

00:20%

Coral’s eyes were rounded, so this room was…

“Clatter!”

Janet ripped off the black cloth, revealing the huge black and white photo underneath.

The man with the gentle smile inside was Janet’s brother!

Coral’s pupils instantly shrunk to the size of a pinpoint. Her screams cut through the

silence of the night.

“Janet, are you crazy? Why did you bring me here!”

Coral sat on the floor with weak legs and a pale face.

Was Janet crazy?! She brought her to the dead man’s room!

The tenderness and reminiscence under Janet’s eyes had dissipated. Her expression

was cold, and her sharp gaze looked at Coral.

“Since you can’t remember my brother’s face and have no respect for him, then kneel

here and identify him well. When you can remember, you can leave.”
