Chapter 5
Chapter 5
“Ah, Mr. Reed hasn’t woken up yet.” The housekeeper said.
“Well, go to the bedroom and wake him up!” Celeste was getting really pissed.
There was silence on the other end, and then a deep male voice said, “What’s up?”
He asked so casually, his voice still raspy from just waking up. For a second, Celeste thought she
might have been too suspicious.
She pursed her lips and took a deep breath, “In a few days, I’ll send you a list of where I’ve put your
clothes and stuff. I hope you don’t bother me with these stupid things again!”
“Stupid things?” Liam sneered. “Celeste, isn’t this the kind of thing you love doing the most? You even
want to control what kind of underwear I put on. Isn’t this what all your life is about?”
Celeste’s breath caught, and her fingers clenched as she felt a sudden pang of heartache.
Even though she was mentally prepared, hearing it was different.
No matter how tough a heart was, it couldn’t remain indifferent when being attacked like this.
There was silence on the phone, and neither of them said anything.
After a while, Celeste spoke hoarsely, “You’re right, I have no ambition. So from now on, I won’t care
anymore. Sign the papers, and we’ll both be happy.”
The topic turned back to divorce, and Liam’s anger rose again, “Are you done with your drama yet?”
Celeste laughed bitterly and said, “Do I have the right to cause drama?”
“You’ll regret this!” Liam hung up after saying those harsh words.
Celeste forced a smile. Her so–called care and dedication were nothing but a joke to him.
Maybe when she was carefully preparing his clothes for different occasions, he was looking at her with
disdain.
What praise could a woman who only paid attention to trivial matters in daily life receive?
Even she felt looked down upon.
“Sir, do you still want to wear this one?” The housekeeper asked cautiously.
She had seen the couple quarrel before, but this time seemed particularly serious. She had never seen
Liam so angry and sharp–tongued.
Liam glanced at the walk–in closet, where Celeste’s clothes took up more than half the space.
She didn’t even take her things when talking about divorce. Was this her attitude?
Liam sneered and said, “Just wear the set she mentioned.”
As soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang.
He picked up the phone and listened while walking, “Mr. Reed, there’s a situation with Miss Sydney.”
A pile–up accident on an overpass had resulted in 11 deaths, 9 missing, and over 60 injured. It was a
rare major traffic accident in J City in the past 20 years.
It had been over 24 hours since the accident, but the search and rescue operation was still ongoing.
People nationwide were concerned and praying for survivors. Meanwhile, Sydney’s fans were fighting
with netizens online.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
The incident started when someone posted a video of the accident scene, showing Sydney safely
getting out of her car and being surrounded by people as she was put on a stretcher. However, there
were many injured people at the scene who hadn’t received effective help.
This contrast was too striking, and some netizens questioned why a lightly injured person was rescued
before those who were more seriously injured. Was there any abuse of celebrity privilege?
