Chapter 3264
Patricia wanted to keep her relationship with Ellar discreet because she didn't want to leave when she felt she needed to be there for Nicole.
Nicole gave her a reassuring smile, "It's fine, don't worry."
But Patricia was firm. "No! Ellar agrees that I should stay. It's important for me to be here with you right now."
She was determined to stay, not just because of the risks facing Nicole, but also because she felt a strong sense of duty and loyalty.
Nicole saw how determined Patricia was, thought for a bit, and then agreed, "Okay, stay for now. After everything calms down, Ellar can come for you." "Thanks," Patricia breathed out, relieved she could stay.
With a gentle smile, Nicole said, "Okay, go ahead with your work." "I will," Patricia replied, and left the room.
Nicole watched her go, moved by the care and commitment Patricia and Ellar had for her.
'After this is all over, I'll move Patricia to BayCorp. She can't stay here forever, or Ellar might start holding grudges against me.'
Ian knocked and entered Lawrence’s office.
"Mr. Royce, everything is ready. The operation will commence today, and we expect to arrive in San Joto the day after tomorrow," Ian reported in a low voice.
"Hmm," Lawrence hummed in satisfaction.
After a moment of hesitation, Ian asked, "So we shall take action as soon as our people arrive?" "Exactly." Lawrence believed this would catch Jared off guard, seizing the most advantageous moment for himself.
"Understood," Ian responded, then turned to leave.
Lawrence leaned in his chair, his eyes filled with a brooding darkness. He had initially planned to reap the benefits behind Everett's back, never anticipating not only Everett's failure but also the subsequent threats to his own plans. Now, left with no other choice, he had to intervene personally.
He contemplated the future, envisioning the downfall of the Johnston Group once he acquired the Fire Crest and Water Crest. 'Then, let's see how Jared will stand against me.'
Imagining a future without Jared, envisioning himself leaving San Joto with Nicole, never to return, Lawrence felt a sense of satisfaction. The tumultuous journey seemed less significant, provided the outcome was favorable; that was all that mattered to him.
Three days went by peacefully, everything seemed as calm as could be. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Nicole got to her office like she always does. Just after she got settled, Patricia came in and said, "Ms. Riddle, we've got an update from Charlie." "Did everything go okay? Was it smooth?" Nicole asked, lifting her eyebrows a bit.
"It went perfectly,” Patricia said, sounding a bit proud. ”He and Doretta worked really well together, and they caught all of Lawrence's men. Zane's team has already taken those guys away quietly." "That's great, I'm happy to hear it was smooth," Nicole said, nodding happily.
"Yes, and because we caught them so quietly, Lawrence won't be able to respond right away. He'll probably need time to figure out what happened, which gives US a great chance to get ready for what we need to do next," Patricia explained.
