Chapter 60
Chapter 60 Mysterious Friend
In the past four years, every time Emily did something that displeased Carol, she would pull Nathan over and complain, calling him on the phone if he wasn't home, all while shedding tears.
Sometimes, Emily felt that Carol should just tie Nathan to her side. Nathan would be better off not getting married, just spending his life with his mother. Any woman who married into their family would be treated like a servant. As they spoke, a black sedan had already approached from a distance, driving smoothly yet swiftly, stopping in front of Emily in just a few seconds.

He's here!
Emily's heart began to leap with unrestrained joy.
"Emily," Allen Parker stepped out of the car, wearing a white mask today, just like when they met at room 2307 of the Hilton Hotel.
Emily thought. Perhaps because Nathan was present today, he didn't want Nathan to know his identity.
"How are you holding up?"
Emily bit her lip, her eyes reddening. "I got here quickly. Bert should still be on his way."
Mr. Satan made a noncommittal noise, grasping her hand. "Let's deal with the matter at hand first. Calm down for now. I'll explain everything to you when we get back home, okay?"
Emily also knew that now wasn't the time to address the morning's events.
She nodded. "I'm not really angry. It's just that I found some women's stuff in your clothes, and I got a little scared..."
"What are you afraid of? Are you afraid that I'll abandon you and rekindle an old flame with another woman?"
Emily frowned, lowering her head. "After all, you've been keeping her in your heart for ten years, and we've only known each other for a month. What can I compare to her?"
"You don't need to compare yourself to her. You have your own merits." Mr. Satan comforted her softly. "Emily, this matter is very complicated and needs to be explained from the beginning. But since I promised you, I can't go back on my word. I can never leave you unless you don't want me anymore. I've said this to you before, and it's still valid no matter how many years pass."
Suddenly, Emily's heart softened.
She actually knew she was being a bit unreasonable, but it was because she cared that she lost her composure completely, and her rationality was thrown out the window.
After her rationality returned, she actually felt that her reaction was a bit excessive.
Mr. Satan had said that the woman was already married and had her own family. He had also promised her that he would never bring up the idea of separation. Regardless of the circumstances, she still believed that Mr. Satan was a man of his word.
"Is that Nathan and his mother?" Satan looked in the direction not far away.
Carol was still complaining to Nathan, showing no signs of stopping.
Emily nodded. "Yes, it's them."
Mr. Satan quickly withdrew his gaze. "It seems like her mother has aged a lot."
"She's nearly sixty years old. Have you met her before?"
Mr. Satan didn't deny it. "I met her over twenty years ago. It's been too long, I can't even recognize her anymore."
They were both part of high society. It wasn't strange that they knew each other. But Emily had never heard Nathan mention it. He actually had a connection with Allen Parker? Allen Parker had even met his mother?
If Emily were to be with Allen Parker, wouldn't Nathan be furious?
"Well..." Emily paused, biting her lip. "I haven't asked you yet, but how is your relationship with Nathan?"
"We don't have any special relationship. I just know him."
It seemed their relationship wasn't very close.
Emily felt relieved. "Okay."
Just then, Bert arrived.
The taxi pulled up right next to Mr. Satan's black sedan, and Bert saw Mr. Satan holding Emily's hand as soon as he got out of the car.
Bert shouted, "Let go of her hand!"
Emily jumped, "Uncle..."
"Emily, don't be afraid. I'm here, and I won't let anyone bully you." Just as Bert spoke, he noticed the mask on Mr. Satan's face and was taken aback, "Who are you? Why wear a mask in broad daylight? What shameful thing have you done that you can't show your face?
Emily quickly intervened, "Uncle, this gentleman is my friend who has helped me a lot. He just doesn't want to reveal his identity..."
Bert looked suspicious, "He's helping you but doesn't show his face?"
Emily nodded, "Yes, that's right. He lent me the money for my father's surgery... He lent it to me."
Emily emphasized the word "lent."
Bert, upon hearing this, smiled awkwardly, "Oh, I see. I just got back to New York City and didn't know about this. I was a bit rude just now, please don't take it to heart..."
"It's okay, I don't mind," Mr. Satan's voice remained low, but he sounded calm. "You should calm down too and not act impulsively. Let's communicate and resolve any issues."
Bert then realized, "Did Emily ask you to come? Emily, I told you to stay at the hospital to take care of your father. What are you doing here?"
Mr. Satan interjected, "Don't worry, I've arranged four senior nurses to take care of Emily's father. Everything is under control."
"Oh, I see... But that must cost a lot of money, right?"
"Don't worry about the money. The
most important thing now is to
ensure her father's health," Mr. Satan said. "Emily, you talk to your uncle, and

Emily nodded, "Okay, sure."
Watching Mr. Satan get back into the car, Bert turned to Emily and asked, "Is this person really your friend? Where did you meet him?" "Just... through Olivia."
"Oh, Olivia, your best friend, right? The one from the wealthy family?"
"Yeah, that's her."
Bert relaxed a bit, then said, "It's good that you're here. Let's go find Sophia together. You're her sister, and she's always listened to you since childhood. Your advice will surely be effective."
Emily could only force a bitter smile.
Sophia had indeed listened to her since childhood, but all of that was based on their relationship before she got involved with Nathan.
Now, she probably already saw Emily as an enemy.
What could she use to persuade Sophia now?
