“It’s so rare for you to ask me to meet up.”
In a restaurant during the daytime, Lucas purposely called Veronica and invited her to meet. Because he wanted to plan and do something, Lucas thought it would be a good idea to seek the assistance of the people closest to Deasy.
“There’s something important I want to discuss,” Lucas said with a serious expression.
“What’s it about?”
“Wait,” Lucas said. “I’m still waiting for one more important person to arrive.”
Before long, the person Lucas was waiting for finally arrived. In fact, their arrival surprised Veronica.
“Aunt Diana?” Veronica exclaimed, truly puzzled. “Why are you here?”
“Lucas asked Aunt to come. He said there’s something important he wants to discuss regarding Deasy.”
Veronica, who was impatient, immediately bombarded Lucas with a multitude of questions. She was both confused and curious about why she and Aunt Diana were invited at the same time to meet.
“So, I want to ask for Aunt Diana and Mrs. Veronica’s help in preparing a surprise for Deasy.”
“A surprise?”
Lucas nodded.
“Yes, Mom. Lucas is going to marry Deasy soon. But before that, Lucas needs your help first.”
He then began to explain slowly, outlining all the plans he had previously discussed with Diana and had received his father’s approval for.
They discussed and brainstormed for a while. They exchanged ideas with Devina and Veronica on how to best punish Deasy without going too far, and they also devised a plan for Lucas to propose and marry Deasy on the designated day.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“So, according to Mrs. Veronica, should I create a charade that I’ll eventually return to Devina and marry her as originally planned before meeting Deasy?”
Veronica nodded.
“Yes, we should make her jealous. Don’t worry, I’ll help provoke Deasy even more. Later, when you’re checking the wedding venue or having a wedding dress fitting, just let me know. I’ll try to bring Deasy to the same place. So, it’ll seem like you accidentally bump into each other.”
“That sounds good,” Lucas agreed.
“Let’s torment Deasy,” Diana chimed in. “That girl needs a little shock therapy. Remember, Lucas, Deasy briefly crossed paths with Devina and you at the obstetrician’s office. Make Devina pretend she’s pregnant with Lucas’s child again.”
Rather than sympathizing with her daughter, Diana came up with an extreme plan. It was unclear what was going through the middle-aged woman’s mind, but she seemed most enthusiastic about pranking her own daughter.
“But what if Deasy gets really stressed and worried, Ma?” Lucas asked, concerned.
“It won’t happen, Luc. Don’t worry, Deasy is tough.”
“And besides, this is supposed to be a spur-of-the-moment wedding,” Lucas added. “How can I prepare a wedding dress for Deasy? I don’t even know her exact size.”
“Don’t worry, Luc. I’ll help with that. Next time, I’ll take her shopping for dresses. When the time comes, you can just inform her what kind of dress and concept you want for the wedding. I’ll make sure to pick the right style.”
“Alright, let’s wrap up our discussion for today. We’ll talk more later. Once again, thank you very much for Mama and Mrs. Veronica’s assistance.”
Diana nodded with a smile. She was relieved that Lucas was still willing to take responsibility and was determined to marry her daughter.
“Mama prays for everything to go smoothly. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize for what Deasy has done. And… thank you, Luc. Thank you for being a responsible man.”
Lucas nodded. He felt relieved and thankful to God for finding a future mother-in-law who supported whatever he was going to do. Initially, he was worried that Diana would be angry about the plan he had put together.
“Lucas, I’m also grateful for the blessing you’ve given me. I promise to do whatever it takes for Deasy.”
Lucas then turned to Veronica. Before they both left, he once again expressed his request for help and gratitude to his future wife’s friend.
“Once again, I request your assistance, Mrs. Veronica. While Deasy and I are apart, please take care of her. If she needs anything, just let me know. Don’t worry; I’ll continue to provide her with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I’ll entrust it to Mrs. Veronica to give to Deasy. You can tell her that you bought it.”
Veronica nodded in understanding of Lucas’s request. After all, for Deasy’s sake, she didn’t mind helping the man who had impregnated her friend.
“Don’t worry; I’ll do my best.”
“Once again, thank you, Mrs. Veronica. We’ll discuss the rest over the phone. What’s certain is that I ask for your prayers and assistance until the day Deasy and I get married.”
