Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 22

Sabrina didn't want to talk. She and Gerald didn't have anything going on.

When Gerald invited her out, he always brought Abigail along, showing respect and restraint.

But in Nelson's eyes, she was probably flirting with Gerald.

However, in order to smoothly get the brooch, Sabrina reluctantly agreed.

Nelson didn't say anything more either. He wrapped his arm around her waist and rested his face on her neck, seemingly falling asleep.

Around 4:00 am, perhaps due to the effect of the cold medicine or his warm chest, Sabrina began sweating. She felt sticky all over and wanted to take a shower.

She carefully moved his arm away and attempted to get out of bed, but she ended up waking him up.

Nelson grabbed her. Still half-asleep, he wiped her with a warm towel. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Feeling refreshed after the wipe, Sabrina couldn't fall asleep anymore.

She wondered why moments like this hadn't occurred earlier when she was still clinging to hope.

The next day, Sabrina got up early, concerned about Cheryl.

Michelle said Cheryl had woken up and wanted to see her. Sabrina decided to visit Cheryl after getting the brooch, hoping it would make Cheryl happy.

Nelson's maid had taken the day off yesterday, which explained why he was so bold in the living room.

Sabrina cooked breakfast, and Nelson surprisingly sat down at the dining table.

It was a classic breakfast with pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. They looked quite appetizing.

Sabrina felt that his mood was quite good and decided to broach the subject. "When will you give me the brooch?"

His expression darkened slightly, but his tone remained calm. "You did this just for the brooch?"

"Duh?"

Nelson took a bite of bacon and then put it down. "Do you have to ruin my mood so early in the morning?"

Sabrina felt wronged. She knew he would be fickle.

At once, she lost her appetite. "What do you want from me? You've slept with me, and I've made you happy..."

"You call that sleeping with you?"

"Is it my fault that you didn't touch me?"

With a mocking laugh, Nelson said, "If you want me to, you should just say so."

Sabrina took a deep breath to maintain her patience. "What must I do to get the brooch?"

He put down his fork and leaned back lazily. "Move back in and promise to let Pamela be the ambassador. Then you can have the brooch."

Sabrina was speechless. No wonder he hadn't mentioned the endorsement deal earlier and was waiting for her.

"Fine. Please inform Ms. Dixon that I will go to collect the brooch." After saying that, Sabrina stood up and left without delay.

Nelson's eyes were filled with displeasure. He lamented how quickly her love disappeared.

Sabrina sent her assistant, Eva Brooks, to find Pamela to retrieve the brooch and went to the hospital herself.

Cheryl was having breakfast and looked apologetic when she saw Sabrina. "Sabrina, I'm sorry for worrying you."

Sabrina leaned into Cheryl's embrace and gently comforted her. "Don't be, Mom."

She couldn't bring herself to blame Cheryl.

Six years ago, after Samson passed away, Cheryl was the one in pain most, and her condition was very poor. Yet, for her sake, Cheryl didn't even cry.

Cheryl kept talking, reminiscing about her time with Samson and mentioning the brooch from when Samson proposed to her.

"Sabrina, how did I lose the brooch back then?"

Just then, Eva called. "Ms. Wyatt, Ms. Dixon said the brooch was a gift from Mr. Tucker to her and couldn't be returned to you."

Sabrina rubbed her forehead. That damned Nelson.

"Ms. Dixon will be at the office today to discuss shooting matters. Why don't you ask her yourself?"

Sabrina hung up the phone. Yet she didn't immediately go to the office. She spent the morning with Cheryl.

When she arrived at the office, it was already 2:00 pm. Seeing Pamela wearing the brooch on her black dress was particularly irritating.

"Didn't Nelson inform you to return the brooch to me?" Sabrina went straight to the point.

Pamela was slightly surprised, but she still smiled. "Sabrina, theoretically, your father's keepsake should be returned to you. But Nelson didn't say anything like that. He'll be upset if I return it to you."

Sabrina's heart sank. Nelson gave the brooch away, knowing that it was Samson's keepsake.
