Chapter 74 He Figured It Out

It’ll be done soon. Stop rushing me. Pressuring me won’t help,” Simon said soothingly.

The woman stayed firm. “If you can’t get this done, don’t blame me if I take matters into my own hands. I think you’re letting her go!”

Bella found their argument boring and walked away. She didn’t have a good feeling about Simon’s family because they reminded her O She and her mother were aband

She didn’t envy them, but she did resent them.

After work that evening, Bella ran into Ian in the parking garage. When he saw her car, he immediately recognized it as one of Dominic’s collections.

“Why were you so miserable commuting by bus? Why didn’t you switch sooner?” he asked.

Bella scoffed. “You go first. I don’t want to scratch your car with my lousy driving skills. I couldn’t afford to pay for any damages.”

Ian’s car was expensive, far beyond what a typical doctor could afford. Bella wasn’t surprised that someone close to Dominic would have a net worth in the hundreds of milli

Ian took her comment as a joke and slowly pulled out. Assuming he wasn’t in a hurry, Bella decided to go first But then her worst fear came true as their car fronts suddenly collided.

Cold sweat broke out on her forehead as she and Ian stared at each other through the windshields; neither of them wanted to get out of the car.

Ian finally backed up a little and said, “Ladies first. I’m honestly a bit scared of you!”

Bella rolled down her window and said with a hint of frustration, “Whose fault is it that you were so careless? I thought you weren’t in a hurry, so I went ahead. I didn’t expect y to suddenly speed up.”

Ian felt a pang in his heart and wiped his eyes. “Sorry about that. You should go ahead.”

Back at Miller Manor, Bella got out of the car and inspected the front. A coin–sized chunk of paint had been scraped off near the headlight.

She had only been driving this car for a few days, and now it was damaged. How was she going to explain this to Dominic?

Well, it’s better to be upfront about it.

As she walked into the living room, she spotted Dominic’s lean figure on the sofa. She approached and held up the car keys. Um… I scraped the car a bit.

Dominic glanced at his phone, casually picked up his teacup, took a sip, and said, “Oh.”

That was it?

Bella took a deep breath to steady herself. “Um, should I get it fixed?”

Dominic glanced up from what he was doing and said, “It’s up to you. If you think it’s a problem, get it fixed. If not, just drive it as is. There’s no need to ask me about something so minor. I gave you the car, and I didn’t expect it to stay in perfect condition.”

Bella felt a bit flustered He knew her well enough to understand her limitations.

Her phone started ringing insistently in her bag. Noticing Dominic’s annoyed frown, she quickly took it upstairs. It was a call from Simon’s new number.

Thinking he might need something at the hospital, she quickly asked, “What is it?”

Simon’s deep voice came through the phone. “Bella, I just got discharged from the hospital. I’m heading back to Holha tomorrow morning. But before I go, there’s something I need to tell you. Please, I need to see you.” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Perhaps it was Simon’s humble tone or the fact that he had helped her before, but Bella agreed to meet him.

When she came downstairs after showering and changing, Dominic was still sitting on the living room sofa, seemingly occupied with something.
