Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis)

Chapter 1060 Mad

With that, she slowly reached out and gripped the trigger. With just a slight squeeze, a bullet could be

fired from the dark muzzle of the gun.

Mason was so frightened that his whole body was shaking uncontrollably, his teeth chattering non-stop.

With a trembling voice, he said, “I-I'll t-talk, Ms. Jefferson... No! I meant to say Mrs. Luther. Mrs. Luther,

I'll tell you everything. Just please put the gun down first.”

Bailey looked at him coldly, slightly lifting her chin to show him a warning look.

Mason didn't dare to push his luck any further, his eyes unblinkingly fixed on Bailey, terrified that she

might accidentally pull the trigger.

“That night, I was also drunk, oblivious to what had transpired. All I knew was when I woke up, Rainie This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

was in my room, lying in my arms. She was covered in marks, there was blood on the quilt, and my

umm... Well, there was... So, they concluded that we were together,” Mason said.

His words were somewhat vague, but Bailey naturally understood his meaning as an adult.

With all the evidence present, it was no wonder everyone, including Mason and Rainie, believed that

something had happened between them.

“Do you not know whether or not you touched a woman that day?” she questioned.

Mason lowered his head, continuously running his hands through his hair.

That night, he had drunk too much, and his memory was hazy. He vaguely remembered being with a

woman. When he woke up and found Rainie in his arms, he instinctively assumed it was her.

“I do. Even though I was drunk, I still had some awareness. I think I must have encountered a woman

that day,” he answered.

Bailey's pupils slightly contracted. If that was the case, then Rainie was not being schemed against, not

being wronged. Yet, I always felt there was something fishy about this. It just didn't seem right. It really

didn't. How could Rainie possibly be with any other man when she loves Sylvester so much? If it were

me, even if I were drunk as a skunk, I wouldn't let any man other than Artemis have any contact with

me. The instincts of humans can sometimes be truly peculiar, beyond the realm of verbal explanation,

and only personally experienced.

“M-Mrs. Luther, everything I've told you is the truth. But please don't misunderstand. I've never

intentionally approached Rainie. Even though I covet her too, after all, she is an Oscar-winning actress

with a sweet appearance, the goddess of countless men. It's only natural to harbor feelings for her.

However, I can swear that I've never harbored any inappropriate thoughts toward her. After that night,

when such rumors started circulating, not only did I not feel the slightest bit of joy, but I was also filled

with fear and dread, because I was worried that Sylvester would kill me,” Mason uttered.

Bailey slowly backed away, leaning against the wall in a somewhat dejected manner. After tucking

away her pistol, she gently rubbed her brows with her fingers. What am I supposed to do next? If

Rainie was with Mason that night, then her relationship with Sylvester would be dead. But on the other

hand, if that night was indeed orchestrated by someone, they would surely make everything seamless

and flawless. The details that Mason mentioned earlier are not surprising. A plot, after all, must be

made convincing, so that outsiders will believe it without a doubt, including the parties involved

themselves.

“What happened when you went to Lunar Bar in the morning?” she asked.

Mason looked at her somewhat timidly, afraid that she might settle accounts with him again, so he

didn't dare to speak up.

“Speak!” Bailey's patience had run out, and she snapped at him.

Mason didn't dare to delay any longer and quickly said, “Some of my branch companies were in

trouble. I wanted to ask Sylvester for help, so I went to find him early in the morning. Turns out, after

entering the penthouse suite at Lunar Bar, I saw him and Karina inside. I suspect the two of them must

have spent the night together.”

Bailey knitted her brows, a flash of anger flickering in her eyes. Sylvester... That jerk! What a beast!

“Why did you bring Rainie along when you went to find Sylvester?” she questioned.

Mason's eyes were somewhat evasive when he stammered, “Well... I... She...”

Without giving him a chance to trick her, Bailey once again pulled out her gun.

Seeing her cold expression and murderous intent in her eyes, Mason didn't dare to beat around the

bush anymore. He quickly said, “It was Karina. She called me, asking me to take Rainie to Lunar Bar. I

didn't know what she was up to. She didn't tell me. So, I came up with an excuse, saying that I wanted

to ask Sylvester for help. That was how I got her to go there with me.”

Bailey's eyes flashed, and she lifted her foot, ready to kick him. The bodyguard by her side quickly

stepped forward to stop her.

“Miss, please be careful. You can't be reckless.”

Bailey regained her senses and glanced at the emergency room door. If everything that happened last

night at Lunar Bar was meticulously orchestrated by Karina, then there's likely more to the story from

that night over a month ago. I can't make decisions based on what I see. Some things must be

investigated. I must help Rainie get justice.

After coming to those realizations, she strode to the door, pushed open the entrance to the emergency

room, and dashed inside.

Meanwhile, inside Lunar Bar's penthouse suite, Sylvester was leisurely sipping his drink, comfortably

seated on the couch, while two attendants were busy cleaning the room.

One of them, while the people inside were not paying attention, fumbled under the bed and slipped a

small object into his pocket.

He was the one Karina bribed the night before. He planted a recorder in the suite, planning to lie low for

a while after obtaining the goods. Once the dust settled, he intended to use the recording to threaten

Karina.

Crack!

The doorknob turned, the bathroom door swung open, and Karina walked out from inside.

Before she could speak, Sylvester ordered the bodyguard standing quietly outside, “Escort Ms. Smith

back to the mansion.”

Karina was taken aback. She had hoped to have breakfast with him, but he was sending her away as

soon as she got up. What's the matter with him?

However, she was a wise woman, aware that pushing too hard would often lead to the opposite of the

desired result. If I try too hard, it might backfire.

“All right. I'm heading back first. Remember to have breakfast. I'll prepare dinner tonight. You must

come back, okay?” she said.

“Okay.”

No sooner had Karina left than Justin barged in. “I heard you were involved with a woman last night.

How was it—”

Before he could finish speaking, a tall glass came flying toward him.

Justin quickly dodged and couldn't help but curse, “What the f*ck? Have you gone mad?”

Sylvester glared at him, his voice filled with bitterness. “Where were you last night? You just let me

make a fool of myself. Now, my life is ruined.”

Justin furrowed his brows, a hint of guilt flashing in his eyes. If I had stayed with this guy last night, he

wouldn't have done such a ridiculous thing, obliterating the last bit of hope left between him and Rainie.

Well, I screwed him over. There's no arguing with that.

“Last night, my mother committed suicide by slitting her wrist. My father called me when I went to the

restroom. I had no choice but to leave you behind and go off on my own,” Justin responded.

Sylvester looked at him expressionlessly and sneered, “We deserve to be single for the rest of our

lives. Now that I think about it, I really feel like a jerk.”

Justin wanted to make some sarcastic remarks, but he held back when he saw how bad Sylvester's

mood was.

“Did you really have sex with Ms. Smith?”
