Chapter 454
Chapter 454
The brand-new car he had just bought was dirtied by Molly on the very first day!
At this moment, he wished he could get himself arrested by his fellow cops. Would that even be
possible? He really didn’t want this sister anymore. Whoever wanted her could have her.
Chad opened the back door of the car, looking at his sister who was both coughing and vomiting on the
seat. He closed his eyes, telling himself to accept this reality. After all, she called him “brother”.
Without any disgust, he got into the car and dragged the girl in the backseat out of the car. He dragged
her limp body to the side of the road, so she could squat there to vomit more comfortably.
Chad squatted beside her, constantly patting her back. Usually, he would have water in his car, but
today he was driving a new car and hadn’t prepared anything.
Across the road was a convenience store. He glanced at his booze-spewing sister and said, “I’ll go buy
you a bottle of water. Stay here and don’t move.”
“I will move.”
Chad scolded her. “What are you moving for? You’re drunk. You can’t cross the road.”
“I will cross the road.”
Chad had a headache. He didn’t feel safe leaving her alone, but he couldn’t exactly carry her across
the road either.
He had no choice but to pull out his phone and search online for the contact number of the
convenience store. He called and asked the storekeeper to deliver it over, even offering to pay extra.
He sat by the roadside, helping Molly drink water, rinse her mouth, and vomit. He patted her back to
make her feel better for over ten minutes.
Chad took out some tissues, wiped her mouth, and then got her back in the car. He also covered the
spot where she had vomited with tissues.
He got back into the car and rolled down the windows for ventilation. Molly, who had thrown up and lost
consciousness, began to sleep leaning against the car door. The vomit in the car left Chad feeling
helpless. He decided to go home first.
When they arrived home, both Coleen and Kendrick were there. Chad carried his sister, who was as
limp as mashed potatoes, to her bedroom. “Mom, you should sleep with your daughter tonight. She’s
all vomited out. I need to go clean up the car.”
Grandma Aubree also came upstairs. Seeing her granddaughter reeking of alcohol, she was
concerned. “Oh dear, why did you drink so much? You’re like a liquor bottle.”
Chad’s brand-new clothes were now wrinkled. He went to the yard and started to clean his new car.
It was summer, and the temperature at night was still high. If he left the vomit unattended, it would stink
by tomorrow.
Kendrick glanced at his daughter, who was so drunk and unconscious, and went downstairs to help his
son wash the car. “Chad, there are some things I’d like to discuss with you.”
…
Molly woke up in the middle of the night, suddenly needing to go to the bathroom. Coleen, who was
half-asleep, accompanied her daughter to the bathroom.
After throwing up, Molly went to sleep, and when she woke up, her head was clearer. “Mom, you don’t
have to stay with me. I’m fine.”
Molly went to the bathroom and felt that her whole body was smelly. She could barely stand, but she
had to take a shower. Coleen later stopped her and let her sleep through the discomfort for the night.
Chad didn’t fall asleep until late at night. He propped his head up on his hands and thought about his
sister’s kiss last night. How would she face him tomorrow? Would she try to escape?
He also thought about what his father had said to him. Why did he suddenly ask about his future plans?
There were still many things at work that hadn’t been settled. It seemed like everything was happening
all at once.
The next day, when Molly woke up, her head was hurting so bad that she couldn’t eat anything.
She went to the bathroom to freshen up. When she came out, she felt a little better.
Coleen didn’t go to the office that day. She went to her daughter’s room and criticized her. “I told you to
drink less yesterday. How could you get so drunk and make such a scene?”
Molly was confused. “What happened?”
“You were crying last night. Don’t you remember?” Coleen was shocked.
Molly blinked. “I remember humming a few times. What happened? Did I cry very loudly?”
Coleen said, “I didn’t pick you up. You should ask your brother.”
“Chad? Did he really come back?”
Molly was shocked. She thought she had been dreaming last night.
Coleen said, “Your brother wanted to surprise you yesterday. He took a bath, shaved, and wore your
favorite clothes to pick you up. But you, you completely forgot about him.”
Molly, still in her pajamas, ran out of her room and rushed to Chad’s door. “Chad, Chad, open the door.”
As she called for him to open the door, she turned the doorknob herself and went in. “Huh, no one’s
here.”
Chad was in the living room. “Dad, take Molly to get her eyes checked when you have time. This isn’t
the first time she’s been ‘blind’. It has happened several times!”
Finally, Molly found the brother she had been longing for in the living room. Molly, still in her pajamas,
ran excitedly to Chad and threw her arms around him. “Chad, if you didn’t come back, I would have to
call the police.” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“But your brother is a cop too. What’s the police going to do when the police lose a cop...”
His familiar words jogged Molly’s memory a little. “This sounds familiar. Who said it?”
Chad looked at her.
“Did I say it?”
Chad then looked at his father. “While you’re at the eye doctor, might as well get a brain CT scan of her
brain.”
Molly didn’t understand what he meant. She tried to sort out the confused scenes in her mind, and
finally, she remembered an unreal dream. “Chad, did I kiss you last night?”
Suddenly, the whole room fell silent.
It was as if she had hit a nerve. Everyone’s eyes were on Molly, who was still hanging onto Chad. Her
arms were around Chad’s neck, and their posture was suggestive.
Kendrick’s hand, which was holding the newspaper, froze. Coleen, who was coming down the stairs,
stopped. Grandma Aubree was bent over, and Grandpa Elmer’s dark eyes were filled with shock.
Chad didn’t expect that his sister could be so... direct!
“You vomited so disgustingly last night. If you wanted to kiss me, do you think I would let you?” Chad’s
mind was a whirlwind, but his words were calm and collected, not revealing any flaws.
Molly responded with an “oh”, mumbling quietly, “So I was dreaming?” She even dreamt of kissing her
brother’s lips! She was really something, staining her beloved brother even in her dreams.
Coleen sat beside her husband, staring at her daughter with some concern. Molly had always admired
heroes since she was a child, and Chad was a hero in her eyes, handsome and doting. This girl didn’t
dream about doing “that” with Chad, did she?
Coleen sat next to her husband. Kendrick put down the newspaper, trying to ease the awkwardness.
“Molly used to kiss Chad’s face when she was a child.”
Coleen said, “A grown woman should avoid her father and brother.”
Kendrick had nothing to say to his wife’s words.
Chad heard his mother’s words clearly. He untangled the arms wrapped around his neck, pushed aside
the girl in her pajamas next to him, and got up, deliberately avoiding his sister.
It was obvious. Her reaction told it all. She had blacked out and forgot everything. This saved him the
trouble of struggling over his plans A, B, and C, on how to face her today.
Molly got up and followed Chad. “Chad, where have you been all these days you’ve been missing?”
“Work.”
“How did it go?”
“Not bad.”
Molly knew the result, so she didn’t need to ask.
But Chad had a question for his sister. “Follow me to the bedroom.”
