Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 476

Chapter 476

He arrived, but the results weren’t out yet.

Grandma Aubree and Grandpa Elmer had also arrived at the hospital. Coleen was still complaining

about her husband, “Why did you tell your parents about my illness? It’s just a minor ailment. There’s

no need to worry them.”

Grandma Aubree quickly responded, “Coleen, you can’t take this lightly. Last year, your Aunt Betty had

breast cancer, and it was a terrible ordeal.”

Coleen smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Mom. I’m young and healthy. It’s probably just the stress from

launching our new product line during the change of the seasons that caused me to faint.”

Kendrick reassured his wife, “Molly has classes during the day, so having Mom here at the hospital

provides some company. Besides, it’s nice to have someone around when you need to use the

restroom during your IV treatment.”

Chad showed up, looking winded. He’d had to wait a long time for the elevator because everyone was

going out for dinner at this hour, so he’d decided to take the stairs instead, running all the way from the

first to the thirteenth floor.

Pushing open the door, he saw his mother already dressed in her hospital gown. “Mom, how are you

feeling?” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Coleen looked at her son. “Chad, weren’t you busy? Why are you here?”

Chad entered the room and looked around, not seeing his sister anywhere. “Where’s Molly?”

Kendrick answered, “She went out to get some food for your mom.”

After understanding the situation, Chad sat down, studying his mother’s slightly pale face. A pang of

worry was stirring in his heart.

Coleen knew her son was concerned about her health, so she patted his shoulder. “I’m fine, honey.”

Chad didn’t dare to take this lightly. “You should delegate some work to your deputy for now. Consider

this hospital stay as a sort of vacation.”

Coleen nodded, “I’ll listen to you.”

As a son, the worry Chad expressed was only a fraction of what he felt in his heart. No matter how hard

he tried to prepare for the worst, seeing his mother in such a state made it impossible for him to put his

feelings into words.

“Have you eaten yet?” Coleen asked her son.

To prevent his mother from worrying, Chad lied, “Yes, I have.”

His mother had always been concerned about every little thing at home and at work, so overworking

could have been a contributing factor to her condition.

Before long, it was time for Chad to leave. Chad didn’t get a chance to see his sister, so he left a

message for his father, “Dad, when Molly comes back, tell her...”

Before he could finish, Molly returned. Molly, carrying two bags of takeout, walked into the room and

saw Chad. “Chad?”

Molly put down the food, and Coleen smiled. “Whatever you need to tell Molly, just tell her now. That

way, she won’t have to ask you a million questions when she finds out you’re gone.”

Chad nodded, “I was just about to leave.”

“I’ll walk you out.” Molly washed her hands and followed Chad out the door.

There were still many people waiting for the elevator, so Chad decided to take the stairs again since it

was faster. “How did Mom’s check-up go today?”

Molly’s eyes welled up with tears. “The initial results indicate that it’s high-risk.”

She continued. Her voice was choked with emotion, “She underwent a biopsy today. The results won’t

be out for a few days, and only then can we confirm whether it’s cancer.”

As Chad descended the stairs, a bitter feeling welled up in his heart.

Who could have predicted that his seemingly healthy mother would suddenly faint? And next, the

doctors told him it might be cancer.

At this moment, Molly needed him to be her rock and comfort her. Chad put his arm around Molly. His

words were light despite the heaviness in his heart. “Don’t scare yourself. Even if it’s cancer, it’s not

incurable. In the meantime, can you visit the hospital more often for me?”

Molly broke down in Chad’s arms. “I’m so worried about Mom.”

“Don’t worry. Everything will be okay,” Chad reassured her, comforting himself as well. “Molly, Mom’s

emotions are probably more complex than ours these days. She might act like it’s nothing big, but she’s

definitely not thinking that way. Stay with her and tell her to stay calm, okay?”

Molly nodded in Chad’s arms.

Molly knew that Chad was just as worried as she was. She comforted Chad, “You need to take care of

yourself too. Don’t let Mom’s condition affect your work. I’ll stay by Mom’s side and take care of her for

both of us.”

The two of them, each worried for the other, comforted each other.

Chad raised his hand to gently pat Molly’s head. “My Molly, you’ve grown up.”

Upon reaching the eighth floor, Chad told her to go back. He needed to run downstairs quickly, and

Molly wouldn’t be able to keep up.

“Remember to grab a sandwich or something on your way back.”

“I know. Now go back.”

Molly climbed the stairs and watched Chad disappear, then turned around and started climbing the

stairs back up.

Before Coleen’s diagnosis was confirmed, no one spoke about it to anyone outside the family.

That night, Molly stayed at the hospital. Despite everyone’s protests, she was determined to stay by

her mother’s side until she was discharged. Eventually, the family had to compromise.

Mia was also due to be hospitalized soon. She was taking a walk on the lawn at home, becoming

increasingly anxious as her due date approached.

Cooper was already on his way back from abroad. Upon hearing that his sister was about to give birth,

he felt it was essential for him to be there.

Madison often spoke of her children with pride, “They fight the hardest, but they love each other the

most.”

Mia was beginning to fear childbirth. The usually energetic Mia was starting to feel apprehensive and

restless. She had nightmares about giving birth and losing a lot of blood. Each time she woke up, she

was drenched in cold sweat. New chąpter avąilable oո

Her mother came over to help her prepare the hospital bag, while Naomi was also preparing a bag for

the baby. Mia was the only one wandering around the lawn, lost in her thoughts.

Before long, Andre sat next to her and asked, “Are you scared?”

Mia shook her head. “Nope. By the time I see you, I’ll be all teary-eyed. I’ll cry so hard that I won’t have

the strength to deliver the baby.”

Mia calculated the months, and then turned to her husband. “Honey, it seems that Holly will be due any

day now.”

Andre looked at his petite wife who was simultaneously worried and thoughtful. “Didn’t we agree not to

talk about them before the baby is born?”
