Chapter 164
Chapter 164
Elgin furrowed his brow, double and triple-checking the passengers who had just gotten off, but no sign of
Letitia!
He floored the gas pedal, chasing after the bus.
The roar of the Ferrari echoed through the streets, fast as lightning!
Elgin whipped the steering wheel around, pulling off a slick drift, and parked the car right in front of the bus.
The driver slammed on the brakes immediately.
That car was way too pricey, worth millions. No way they could afford a fender bender!
Elgin, with his long legs, stepped out of the car.
“What… what the heck are you doing…” The driver was dumbfounded as Elgin vaulted through the window and into the bus.
Elgin scanned the entire bus, but Letitia was nowhere to be seen!
He had clearly seen her board this bus, when did she vanish into thin air?
“Surveillance,” Elgin said coolly, looking at the driver, “Pull up the footage now!”
The driver replied, “I don’t have an access to that, man. If you want to see the footage, you gotta go to our company…
“Damn it!”
Elgin cursed under his breath and leapt back through the window, slipping into his Ferrari in a flash.
Letitia had learned to pull a fast one on him, huh? The old vanishing trick?
He was determined to see how she slipped through his fingers!
While speeding to the bus company, Elgin was on the phone, trying to reach Letitia.
No answer.
He sent her a voice message, “Letitia, pick up the phone! Text me back!”
But still, nothing.
And a few minutes later, when he tried calling again, her phone was off!
“Letitia!” Elgin gritted his teeth,
She really had… no regard for him!
Refusing to answer his calls was one thing, but completely turning off her phone and ignoring him was an entirely different matter!
Elgin stormed into the bus company, demanding the manager to pull up the surveillance footage for him.
When he saw Letitia slipping off the bus at one of the stops, his face turned sour.
She did it on purpose! Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Just then, his phone rang. It was Letitia calling.
Elgin answered immediately, “Where on earth are you?”
“Hello, this is the police station,” a middle-aged man’s voice came through, “Someone turned in a found phone. What’s your relation to the owner?”
“Im her husband.”
“Oh, then come on over and pick up the phone.”
Elgin asked, ‘What about her? Who found it? Where was it found?”
A wave of panic swept over Elgin.
How did her phone end up lost, and where was she?
After getting off the bus… what happened to her?
Countless questions flooded his mind.
The sky gradually darkened as night fell.
Letitia fluttered her eyelids and slowly opened her eyes.
Her head was spinning, and her neck ached as if it was about to snap, which took her a while to recover.
Letitia sat up from the ground, surveying her surroundings.
Where was this? Where was she?
As her consciousness slowly returned, Letitia remembered everything. She was about to message Vidonia, and then suddenly everything went black, and she knew no more!
Letitia looked around and realized she was in a dimly lit basement with no windows, the air thick with mustiness.
The floor was covered with straw. Suddenly something furry scurried over her foot.
Letitia focused and saw it was a rat!
A big one!
Luckily, having been in a mental hospital, she wasn’t easily spooked anymore.
What worried her more was who had brought her here!
“Hello? Is anyone there?” Letitia started banging on the walls, “Come out and say something!”
Who had she offended?
Who would kidnap her?
It only made sense… Shela would be the one to hate her this much.
But Shela, after being drained of blood and thrown into a psych ward to accompany her father, didn’t have the
means.
As she pondered, suddenly, a panel in the ceiling opened.
“Shut up and stay put!” A rough male voice barked, “Keep yelling and I’ll cut your tongue out!”
“Who are you?“
“That’s none of your business. Just stay quiet, and you’ll suffer less.”
Letitia looked up, straining to see the man’s face.
With a “bang,” the ceiling panel closed again.
In the basement, it was pitch black.
The rats squeaked, cockroaches crawled everywhere, and the atmosphere was eerie and cold. Letitia couldn’t help but rub her arms.
She was cold and hungry, and she hadn’t eaten anything yet.
Now, she had to conserve her strength and wait for someone to rescue her.
Would that person be Elgin? It had to be. He was so capable.
Letitia racked her brains but couldn’t understand who would kidnap her. She was already so pitiful, barely hanging on, hardly worth the risk for a kidnapper.
She huddled in the corner, hugging her knees.
“If only I hadn’t gotten off the bus…” she murmured to herself, then sighed, “But then again, if someone’s got their eye on me, if they didn’t make their move today, they’d find a chance eventually.”
She didn’t know how much time had passed, Letitia kept pinching her thigh, using the pain to stay awake, but she was at her limit…
Just as Letitia was about to pass out, she heard footsteps above her head again.
This time, there were also women’s voices.
A woman?!
Letitia perked up her ears, listening carefully.
“Where is she? Alright… keep a close eye on her, don’t let her escape. She’s crafty, you guys better watch out. You took my money, now do the job right!”
One of the men asked on purpose, ‘This chick’s pretty hot, can we have some fun with her first?”
“What’s the rush? You’ll get your chance to have all the fun you want.”
Letitia felt a chill down her spine.
But that voice sounded vaguely familiar…
“Shela!” Suddenly, Letitia shouted, “Shela, it’s you! I know it’s you!”
Her voice echoed through the basement.
Letitia didn’t know if Shela had heard her, so she picked up a stone from the floor and began to pound on the wall, “Shela, stop hiding, come out! You’ve kidnapped me, and now you’re scared to face me?”
Finally, after her persistent shouting, the ceiling panel opened once more.
Shela appeared above, looking incredibly creepy and scaring Letitia.
“You’re smarter than I thought,” Shela sneered, “Yes, it’s me. Letitia, bet you didn’t see this coming. You’re falling into my hands!”
Letitia stepped back in fright.
Because on Shela’s face were dense and crisscrossing scars!
Scar after scar crisscrossed her face, with the longest one snaking its way from her forehead right down to her chin!
“Scared yet?” Shela said, “Letitia, I owe this hot mess you see all to you!”
“You just took a whipping, why is your face…”
Elgin didn’t lay a finger on Shela’s face, did he? How did it end up looking so freakishly terrifying?
