Looking For Her
Saphira’s POV
My loyalty to my pack forces me to act.
Glary is such a fool, he really is in the wrong with what he’s doing now. Leaving the pack to stalk Mercedes next year while his own fated mate waits for him is definitely not the right way to get revenge. My bestie is hurt, feeling abandoned by his mate after waiting four years for her. Everyone wants to find their mate at eighteen, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Some are lucky, but others must wait until the Moon Goddess deems the time right.
My mood is immediately boosted by the knowledge that my pack has a future Luna, a real one appointed by Selene herself. My heart is thumping with joy, I’m sure when Glary meets her, his attitude about life will change significantly. He believes in loving Mercedes, but I know he’s just jealous of the strong bond the mates share. Seeing them in the pack so happily together while he has lost faith in his own mate, haunts him. But forcing Mercedes to accept him in all hopes she will love him as much as Alpha Zane is just daydreaming. Nothing will come of it.
I need to find my pack’s Luna.
Repressing my own grief, my new assignment is to look for that one person who can save my pack from a possible war next year when Alpha Zane claims his mate. Because that stupid friend of mine still doesn’t realize his logic is messed up.
If his wolf has detected someone else as his fated mate, how would Mercedes belong to him next year anyway? Only in fairy tales do wolves have two or more mates, Selene surely does not tolerate infidelity or immorality. She created the mate bond to minimize polygamy and relationship crises among her subjects.
Now that my mate obviously isn’t in Silver Moon and I will probably become a spinster in the pack, the least I can do is get our Luna. Maybe I’ll become her confidante, coordinate projects on her behalf, or do whatever she aspires to achieve. Without a mate and pups on my hands, I have a lot of free time that I can use to lighten her workload. She will have her hand full with Glary, who clearly suffers from a feeling of inferiority and needs a lot of love. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
I’m on a mission!
I quickly enter my bedroom and change into comfortable jeggings and a sports top. I throw a warm jacket over it and walk out the door to the packhouse garage. As the Alpha son’s special friend, I am authorized to use his vehicles. I need a quick and representative one, when I meet our Luna it must be clear that we are not a poor pack that is unable to provide her a good life. After focusing on the options stalled in front of me, I opted for the Audi Sports that Glary had driven minutes ago. His scent is still there, making it easier to convince her that her mate is in my pack.
In good spirits, I drive out of the pack land.
It has been a long time since I have been outside, actually from the age of eighteen, I have cut off contact with the outside world. All for fear that my mate would be from another pack and I would encounter him. Then I will have no other choice but to move in with him, leaving all my family and friends behind. Just the thought of that makes me freeze with fear. Silver Moon is my home, I won’t be able to settle anywhere else.
At a gentle pace, I cross the road while enjoying the fresh air from the forest on both sides. My thick blond curls blow into my face as I focus on the way ahead. How I’ve missed this, all those years of making my pack a personal prison just fell away from this experience.
Finally I reached the service station Glary indicated.
There is indeed a Pitstop attached to it, I already inhale the delicious Pizza smell from the outside. Before I start my investigation, I will enjoy the menu first.
Sitting on one of the comfortable tables, I go for Lasagna and a slice of Pizza.
“It seems like the werewolves all like the same thing today,” the waitress notes. I smile and look up at her.
“Did a lot of them come by today, then?”. She nods.
“Three, to be exact,” she answers dryly, pressing her lips together in disapproval. “The Alpha was a real ass. He declined the deal of the day.”
I grimace at her words.
“Were you on the menu?” I suggest, barely holding back my laugh.
“Yeah, I’m the special flavor of the day. He missed out a lot.” The waitress doesn’t seem to feel the irony of my words and goes all coquettish, pushing her assets forward. Indeed, I can’t blame Glary for turning down the deal when everything is offered so cheaply.
“And the others, who were they?” I ask her. I have a feeling this lusty waitress will make my search much easier for me.
“That was the Beta and a warrior from Midnight Moon. As always arrogant, their wealth messes their minds,” she reveals, lowering the corners of her mouth in disdain.
Midnight Moon!
That’s Alpha Zane’s pack, Mercedes’ mate.
If Glary’s mate is from Midnight Moon, peace is guaranteed. That is if Glary accepts her. Because if he rejects her and still goes after Mercedes, that’s double trouble. I have to find the warrior, and persuade her to come with me to Silver Moon. Hopefully she’s not as bitter as Glary or in a relationship with someone who isn’t her mate.
“Yes, those women in Midnight Moon are beautiful, which often makes them overconfident. Is this woman also black-haired with blue eyes?” I ask the waitress, who is still at my table, enjoying the gossip.
“Aahh, she doesn’t look bad, but she doesn’t have the generous curves I have to offer,” she brags. “Plus, she smells like a virgin. haha!” My guess was on point.
So, what I have now is that my Luna is black-haired, well-built, a warrior, strong and like me, she has saved herself for her fated mate.
It couldn’t get any better, this journey is all fun.
On the way to Midnight Moon, full force…
