Chapter 108 We Are Familiar With Each Other
Chapter 108 We Are Familiar With Each Other
Viola looked like she was anticipating such a reaction from her, and she let out a snort, “What’s that?
You shameless third wheel, are you saying that a victim doesn’t have her right to voice her opinions? It
would be best if Joseph is able to see your despicable face while he is probably thinking that you are a
capable and virtuous. He must be thinking that you want to become the stepmother to his son willingly!
You have an illegitimate child whose father is unknown, yet you have set your eyes on somebody else’s
fiancée. It is an understatement to label you as a shameless woman.”
“Ms. Kidman.” Hayden suddenly look a step towards Viola and her face was darkened, “Let me warn
you to watch your mouth. Do you understand human language?”
Viola was intimidated by the cold light in Hayden’s eyes. She couldn’t help taking a step back while
forcing herself to respond, “What are you doing? Are you going to raise your hands to hit me?”
Hayden glared at her coldly, “I haven’t done anything yet, yet you think that I want to hit you. Your
imagination is filling in the blanks while I was at Maldives because of work reasons by imagining that I
was scheming to snatch your fiancé. You should search within yourself the reason your fiancé decided
to terminate your engagement instead of blaming and venting your anger on someone else. I don’t
have time to talk nonsense with you here.”
After saying that, he shot a cold glare at Viola without holding back before turning around and heading
towards the door.
“Stop right there.” Viola was completely flustered.
“And one more thing.” Hayden held the knob of the door and she didn’t even look back, “I have
recorded your speech when you were scolding me just now, and despite it not being able to become
significant evidence, it would still be a threat to you if I upload it to the internet, no?”
“You…” Viola’s face had turned into a different color because of her anger, but she managed to swallow
the words she was planning to use to scold Hayden.
She didn’t expect that Hayden would make a recording of her words. I have underestimated you,
Hayden.
With a loud slam at the door, Hayden stood still in the corridor as she let out a breath slowly. Her
thoughts and heart were muddy at the moment.
If this was the past, she would never handle this matter using such a way. Her rash actions made her
realize that she was way too careful and nervous when it came to matters that concerned Joseph.
“Ms. Downey, are you alright?”
Seeing that Hayden had returned to her office, Jeff hurriedly discarded what he was holding previously
and came forward in concern, “Just now, when you were called by Viola to discuss something, I can
see that you are not too happy. Is there something wrong between you guys?”
“Have you finished your task? How can you be a busybody like a woman?” Hayden rolled her eyes at
him, “If you are bored being my assistant, I can give this chance to the new intern to replace you”
“Don’t.” Jeff immediately shut up as he replied in a flattering tone, “I am just worried about you, Ms.
Downey, since you are so close to Mr. Beckham, and it is no surprise that Viola, who is his fiancée,
would be concerned about you.”
Upon hearing that, Hayden turned around and revealed a poker face, which would elicit a shiver down
anybody’s spine, “Jeff, it seems that you have a lot on your mind? Since when did I become close to
Mr. Beckham? And why would someone have anything to say about that?”
“Th…Then, it should be the young master of the Beckham family pestering you non-stop. I was just
giving a casual comment. Everyone knows that you have a daughter, so there’s no way you could have
something to do with Mr. Beckham.” Jeff put on a wry smile.
Hayden knitted her brows and with a serious expression, she ordered, “That’s enough, stop your
careless comments. This coming two days, the production crew is going to move into our building,
please take care of the security jobs in several areas in the building. Remember to stop any fans from
infiltrating.”
“Roger, I got it.”
After returning to her office, Hayden closed the door and pursed her lips in disgust as she muttered,
“Fiancée? Who said it is official? This guy has too much time and he only knows to believe the rumours
without any basis.”
...
In the afternoon, Stella and Noah were in a daze in the rest room.
“Noah, I feel so bored.”
After stalling in the rest room for an entire day and polishing off their meals here, Stella felt extremely
bored.
Noah was fidgeting with a Rubik’s cube which he had messed up and solved for countless times. He
blinked while thinking that it was not too boring for him.
Stella sat down on the sofa while letting out a sigh, “Noah, if I know that once mummy starts working
and we would feel so bored, I would have stayed at home. At least I would have a lot of toys for my
own amusement and I can even watch some animation.”
Noah scratched his head, looking a little lost. Based on his life experience, nobody had taught him what
he should do if his sister was bored.
With a slight knocking on the door, Stella’s monotone was interrupted.
“Can I come in?” A gap appeared at the door, and a hoarse and low voice sounded through the gap.
Stella sought the source of the voice and her eyes lit up, “Benjamin.”
Sensing that Stella’s mood had taken a turn for the better, Noah was stunned for a moment before
casting an inquisitive glance at the visitor.
The visitor was none other than Benjamin, and he used to stay in the Nanking hospital for more than a
week. Hayden used to bring along Stella while visiting him, so the two of them were quite familiar with
each other. Although Benjamin had a mild amnesia, but because his age was not too advanced, he
could always come up with peculiar yet exciting ideas to brighten the moods of the children.
Benjamin was narrowing his eyes and he had a brilliant smile on his face. He let himself into the room
naturally and he scooped Stella up from the floor, “You didn’t come to see me while you’re here. Are we
still good friends?”
Stella blinked, “I just forgot to do that. Benjamin, I am so bored now, is there anything I can have fun
with?”
“That’s easy. Let me bring you out to have fun.”
“Really?” Stella’s eyes lit up, “Can we do that?”
Just as Benjamin was about to nod, suddenly he felt something grabbing his pants, and as he looked
downwards, he saw Noah grabbing his pants and looking at him cautiously.
“It seems that this little fellow is against me bringing you out.” Benjamin nudged Stella’s nose while
putting her back onto the floor. He said teasingly, “He probably thinks that I will sell you off.”
Upon hearing that, Stella tugged at Noah’s shirt, “Noah, Benjamin is not a bad guy. Didn’t you just meet
him in the hospital yesterday? Benjamin is mummy’s friend. We are very close to each other.”
Noah secretly sighed helplessly while recalling the butler’s words about the beginning and end of the
whole incident. This person is no good friend of mummy, he’s just around her because of the remaining
problem in the aftermath of the accident. Stella this rascal is being too naïve.
With a helpless feeling, he could only write something on the drawing board, “Mummy wants us to stay
put here and not simply go anywhere.”
He pressed the voice calling function and his words were transformed into a mechanical voice which
could be understood by Stella.
When she heard that, Stella looked a little disappointed. She eyed Benjamin dejectedly, “Alright.
Benjamin, mummy doesn’t allow us to simply go anywhere.”
Benjamin caressed her head and smiled, “You don’t have to look so dejected. It will be dinner time
soon, and I am planning to bring your mummy and you out to eat.”
“Where are we going?” Stella immediately came back to life, “I want to eat fried chicken.”
“No problem. You can choose anything you want. You will like the meal definitely.”
As he said that, he looked at Noah meaningfully, “Little kid, are you coming with us?”
Noah furrowed his brows, looking like someone who was far mature.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
For some reason, he had a feeling that this Benjamin was scheming something wicked behind his
back.
