Chapter 73 Let Go Of Me First
Chapter 73 Let Go Of Me First
Before going upstairs, Hayden asked the servant for burn ointment. She knocked on the door of the
cloakroom.
“Come in.”
Joseph had already changed his clothes, and the pajamas that he wore earlier was messily thrown on
the ground.
“Are your legs fine? I brought you a burn ointment.” Hayden asked while standing at the door. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Joseph nodded, “Thanks.”
“No worries, the burn ointment is from your house anyway. I’ll put it here for you to apply then. I’ll go out
first.”
“No, apply it for me. It’s your porridge that burned me.”
“Hey! Why aren’t you making sense? Did I make porridge just to burn you on purpose?”
“I didn’t say you did that on purpose.”
Joseph looked over at her and said, “Could you help me out? I really don’t know how to use this
ointment.”
Hayden’s face turned red as Joseph kept staring at her. She was hesitating for a moment before she
took the ointment over.
Hayden bent down and lifted the corner of the towel, revealing a large burnt region on his skin. Her
heart throbbed inexplicably when she realized the burn was quite severe.
“Look, you have to rub the ointment between your palms until it feel hot, and then apply to the burned
region of your skin.”
She sat down and demonstrated, rubbing a small piece of ointment in the palm of her hand. When she
was about to apply the ointment on his burn, she hesitated for a short while, “You should do it yourself.”
She took a step back after saying that.
Joseph suddenly grasped her wrist, “You do it.”
“Why? It’s not like you can’t reach your wound.”
“It’s troublesome.”
Hayden was speechless in an instant, “You can wash your hands after applying it. You’re such a lazy
person, young master.”
When Joseph heard her tone of ridicule as she called him ‘young master’, his eyes trembled slightly.
She thought of Joseph’s luxurious lifestyle, realizing that he must have never apply any medicine by
himself before. Hayden looked at the ointment in her hand and nodded her head, “I’ll do it then, but you
have to let go of me first.”
Joseph looked down, and he saw a strand of Hayden’s hair sliding from her shoulder as it blocked her
cheek.
He stretched out his hand and brushed the strand of hair towards the back of her ear.
Hayden trembled a little. As she turned her head around in surprise, their eyes met.
They looked at each other for some time before she recovered from her surprise and said in a panic,
“It’s almost done. You, you should clean it up yourself. I’m leaving.”
Joseph stopped her once again. He grabbed her so hard that she exclaimed, “Joseph, you...”
Hayden struggled immediately.
Not knowing if she had accidentally touched his wound, as a groan sounded in her ear.
“Did I accidentally touch your wound?” Hayden didn’t dare to move and asked in a panic.
Joseph took her in his arms, “It’s fine.”
“You... let go of me.”
Hayden gritted her teeth.
What if someone saw them?
Hayden’s attitude made Joseph really unhappy. He felt a fire surging up in his chest. Without a second
thought, he raised her chin and leaned over.
“Hmm...”
Hayden widened her eyes in shock and her pupils were dilated.
When he was about to move on further, Hayden suddenly recovered from her surprise. She pushed
him away in an instant and gave him a fierce slap on the face as she raised her hand, “Slap!”
The sound of that slap echoed in the cloakroom, even the servants downstairs stared towards the
second floor when they heard it.
Hayden’s hand was still trembling.
She was really frightened, because she never thought that Joseph would suddenly do such a thing to
her. She suppressed her anger and tried to calm herself down,
“If you think I’m staying here as an exchange of you doing such things, me and Stella can move out
immediately. Getting myself involved in other people's marriage is already beyond my moral
principles.”
