Chapter 929: You Are My Child’s Mother
At this point, she was still foolishly trying to shift all the blame onto Luna.
“Mr. Russo, all of this has to be orchestrated by Kelsey Silverton. Once we catch her, everything will be resolved,” she frantically grabbed Orion’s arm, “We must punish Kelsey Silverton…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Orion was already impatient.
He kicked her away.
Vivian fell to the ground.
Clutching her stomach, she looked incredulously at Orion, “Mr. Russo…”
Orion didn’t bother to say a word to her.
He handed the baby to Luna, “Take the child to the car, I will handle things here.”
Luna held the baby tightly and nodded vigorously, “I understand.”
Vivian was at a loss.
Why did Orion still trust Kelsey Silverton?
“Mr. Russo, Kelsey Silverton lost the child, how can you trust her? Giving the baby to her, isn’t that putting the baby in danger?”NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Orion ignored her.
Instead, he went inside to negotiate with the police.
Orion couldn’t tolerate any harm coming to Star because of Vivian.
So, this matter wouldn’t be settled so easily.
Even if Star was unharmed, Vivian’s intentions towards Star were unforgivable.
So Orion decided to charge Vivian with kidnapping.
Star’s baby bottle was found in Vivian’s home, indicating that she took it to soothe Star but forgot to return it.
This proved that Star had been in her residence.
Together with the witnesses she bribed.
With both witness and physical evidence, Vivian had no way to defend herself.
She was arrested.
Even when she was being held, Vivian couldn’t understand why Orion trusted Kelsey Silverton so much.
Because despite her ambition, she lacked wisdom and was somewhat foolish.
If she hadn’t gone after Star, Orion might not have taken action against her.
But she directed her actions towards Star, and Orion could never forgive that.
He would rather see her suffer a different fate than kill her.
Star was Orion’s heart!
The resolution of this matter only took two days.
Orion was very efficient!
Orion didn’t have much time, his work was put on hold for two days.
After resolving the issue, Orion returned home.
Luna was feeding Star when he entered.
After drinking the milk, Star fell asleep.
Orion said, “I need to talk to you.”
Luna put down Star and followed him to the living room.
Orion adjusted his collar, “While the situation wasn’t too serious this time, you still need to be more careful…”
Luna said, “I know. It was my fault this time, I’m sorry, I didn’t take good care of Star.”
But then she changed the subject, “You knew Vivian had ulterior motives against you, why did you bring her into the house? Isn’t that putting Star in danger deliberately?”
Orion turned to look at her.
Their eyes met, but Luna quickly averted hers.
She looked nervously elsewhere!
“I just need you to say the word, and I will immediately send her away, but you refuse to speak up.” When Orion said this, it was almost like an admission.
He understood her.
The truth was out in the open, and both felt awkward.
They could pretend before.
But how could they do so now?
Orion stood up, “My work isn’t finished yet, I’m leaving today.”
After speaking, he went to Star’s room.
Luna closed her eyes, regretting the words she had spoken.
How would she face Orion in the future?
Orion stayed in Star’s room all night and left the next morning.
Luna tried to avoid talking to him or being near him.
She only felt free when Orion was away.
She went to Star’s room.
The diaper had been changed.
The formula had been given.
Star was peacefully asleep.
Luna sat by the crib.
Watching Star’s peaceful face, her feelings were complex.
She wanted to see Star grow up.
To see her walk, talk.
To see her go to kindergarten, elementary school, college…
To see her grow up, get married, have children, and live a happy life.
But now…
She gently touched Star’s face.
“How long can I care for you?”
Star would grow up and no longer need care.
The time she could spend with Star was limited.
“But for now, being by your side is enough for me. We’ll figure out the future later.”
She smiled.
…
Life continued at a leisurely pace.
With Vivian gone, Luna and Star’s life was peaceful and comfortable.
Only Alf Hicks would occasionally drop by, claiming to visit Star on behalf of Orion.
Since Orion didn’t video call Star after returning home.
He probably thought Luna might feel uncomfortable.
He just let Alf Hicks come over to record Star’s appearance and send it to him.
He joked, “Orion is going overboard. He could just ask you to record it for him, why does he make me do it?”
Luna ignored him.
Because she had a bit of an understanding of Alf Hicks now.
If you argue with him, he’ll have more to say.
If you ignore him, he’ll find it boring and stop talking.
…
One month later!
Orion’s work was done, and he came back.
Now, they would have to see each other more often.
Even if Orion was working, he always came home at night.
So they couldn’t avoid each other.
And since Lily Winters hadn’t returned yet, Luna was the one cooking.
There were no outsiders at home.
If someone saw them, they might think they were a family of three.
And they were, in a way.
But…
They knew each other’s identities, yet neither spoke openly about it.
After dinner, Orion suggested, “How about we have a drink?”
Luna didn’t refuse.
She had things to tell Orion.
But she didn’t know how to bring it up.
A drink might make it easier to speak up.
Orion brought a bottle of liquor and two crystal glasses.
He poured a drink for Luna first, then for himself.
Luna drank in one gulp.
She set the glass down, “Pour me another one.”
Orion watched her, “Slow down.”
Luna didn’t say anything and downed the second glass in one go.
She slammed the glass down, “When did you figure out who I am?”
Orion continued pouring for her, “I knew from the start.”
He set down the bottle, “Do you all take me for a fool? If I couldn’t figure this out…”
He looked at her, his eyes full of deep affection, but he forcefully suppressed it.
“We’ve spent so much time together, even if you changed your appearance, your voice, but… you are my child’s mother.”
